Open-Bible Ministries
believe that the Protestant Reformation of the Sixteenth Century was the
greatest ever spiritual revival to have taken place since that in Jerusalem
on the Day of Pentecost as recorded in the second chapter of The Acts
of The Apostles. It began a process of restoring the great truths of the
Bible which had been covered over and suppressed during that period of
history, known rightly as the "Dark Ages", and which followed Constantine
and his Church Council of Nicea. Not only did the Reformers rediscover
the great truth of Justification by Faith, but their eyes were also opened
to the prophecies of the Bible, so that with one voice they identified
the Roman Catholic Church as the Woman, Babylon, of Revelation 17:
"....
drunken with blood of the saints, and with the blood of
the martyrs of Jesus......"
and the entire dynasty
of Popes as Antichrist.
In addition to all
of this, the Reformation was, above all, a direct historical fulfilment
of Revelation chapters ten and eleven as well as the first three verses
of Hosea chapter six. The nations which embraced Protestantism at the
Reformation, eg Britain, Holland, Scandinavia, the Huguenots of France
and the Waldenses of Italy were thereby identified as the "Lost
Tribes of Israel".
However in recent
years we have seen, world-wide, a "last days" revival of the power and
influence of the Roman Catholic Church in both the religious and political
dimensions. This attempt to establish again a one world religion - Mystery
Babylon - is yet a further manifestation of the so called New World Order,
and a serious threat to the liberty of all Bible-Believing Christians.
The modern Ecumenical and Charismatic Renewal Movements, even many of
the "big name" T.V. Evangelists, are all playing their part in the move
for unity with Rome.
It is part of our
task at Open-Bible Ministries to remind our people not only of these great
historical events but also of the characters, who, under the Hand of God,
were instrumental in bringing the Reformation about, often at the cost
of their very lives. In addition, we seek to proclaim the great truths
of the faith rediscovered at and since the time of the Reformation and
to expose the true nature of Roman Catholicism, its prophetic identity,
its false doctrines and its political intrigues.
