MOSLEM INFLUENCE IN BRITAIN
The following report from the Sunday Times was headed: "Muslim Network channels millions to Central Office". This said:
"An international network of Muslim mosques has made large secret donations to the Tory Party. One of those involved says as much as £5 million was channelled into Conservative Central Office."
"The donations from the world's Islamic community were organised by a syndicate of Middle East businessmen and sent through a complex network of offshore bank and investment accounts. This followed meetings last year between Jeffrey Speed, then director of fund-raising and the treasurer's department at Central Office, and Mohammed Kahan, who is wanted on gun-running charges in Fiji."
"Senior Tory sources confirmed yesterday that the donations had been discussed over several months last year. They emphasised that no money had been received directly from Kahan but added they could not deny that cash had been received from the international Islamic community."

SCOTLAND'S APOSTASY
" Cannabis is no sin for Kirk youngsters"
| Many young Christians in the Church of Scotland see nothing wrong with smoking cannabis, it was claimed yesterday. The admission, by a Church official, came as more than 300 young Church delegates met for their second National Youth Assembly. On the debating agenda was a potentially explosive combination of subjects, including the decriminalising of cannabis, euthanasia, abortion rights and homosexuality. All the resolutions, however controversial, made at the conference, which ends today, will have to be considered by the Church establishment at next month's General Assembly. The views of the young will be reported to their elders by two delegates from the National Youth Assembly. As well as giving young people a chance to express their views, this week's event also aimed to persuade them that their opinions are valued by the Church hierarchy, and that youth has an important role to play within the Church. The Youth Assembly has the full backing of the Moderator of the Church of Scotland, the Rt. Rev John McIndoe. Opening the event yesterday, he said the Church had to shed some "excess baggage" in its attitudes to young people and listen to their views. Mr Steve Mallon, National Youth Advisor | with the Church's Board of Parish Education, said: "There are likely to be fireworks at some of the debates because there are so many strongly-held and conflicting views on many of the issues. We've got more than 300 delegates here from all over Scotland, who know about real life because they live it. We are not talking about a bunch of goody-goodies who spend all their spare time reading Sunday books. On the subject of drugs, it is hard to say what the outcome will be, but I should think there will be strong support for the use of cannabis for medicinal purposes, such as killing the pain of certain illnesses." Asked what he thought the youth assembly would have to say about the decriminalisation of cannabis for recreational use, he said: "We have delegates from every type of background. Some of them have first hand experience of drugs, and I know there are young people in the Church who smoke cannabis and have no problem reconciling that with their Christianity." Mr McIndoe added: "We have to concentrate on promoting the core message of the Church - that of the Gospels - and that means we must address every issue facing the world today." |

A GREAT FALLING AWAY IN HOLLAND -
THE LAND OF ZEBULON
A recent copy of Christian News describes an empty former Catholic church in Amsterdam that has been stripped of all its religious symbols and turned into a Moslem Mosque. Islam, brought to the Netherlands by Moroccan and Turkish immigrants, worries the Dutch priests and pastors, but their main worry is the decline in religious interest among their own people. Church leaders are wondering what to do with the empty churches, monasteries and chapels that are costing a small fortune to keep in repair. Elders have sold off more than 250 churches in the last two decades, churches where Calvinists, Catholics and Lutherans prayed for a century or longer. Some of these have been made into apartments, stores, discotheques and museums. Of the country's 40 Orthodox synagogues, only about a dozen are in use.
All of this comes as no surprise when you look at what has brought on the apostasy. Marijuana and prostitution are legal under Dutch laws. Physician-assisted suicide and euthanasia are technically illegal, but physicians are seldom prosecuted. Liberalism in the Dutch pulpits there, as anywhere that this occurs, has certainly played a part in the decline. In 1960, 18% of the Dutch said they belonged to no church or religion. Today that number is 40%.

DID THE PROPHETS FORESEE THESE END-TIME WONDERS?
Can you imagine an ancient Hebrew prophet gazing in the Spirit into the future and seeing the war in the Persian Gulf? How would he, in his limited vocabulary, describe the amazing "iron birds" flying as lightning into the clouds. Would the missiles look like "iron arrows with yellow tails"?
There are many scriptures in the Bible which imply that the Old Testament Men of God may have looked into the future and described in their own words inventions of our time that were completely unknown in their day. There are famous Bible scholars that either ignore or totally write off these verses as bearing any reference to future inventions. Notice the scriptures below, then make a decision in your own heart and mind.
" The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall jostle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings." NAHUM 2:4
How would a prophet describe an automobile he had never seen before? Would it appear as a chariot that moved fast like lightning? For some time, Jewish rabbis taught that when fiery chariots are seen in the streets of Jerusalem, it was another sign of the Messiah's soon coming.
While some of the Scriptures that imply modern inventions may seem unclear in their interpretation, one verse in the Scripture is certain in its implication. At the visible return of Christ during the future battle of Armageddon, we are told that:
" ..every eye shall see him .." REVELATION 1:7
Such international news networks as CNN can now transmit live from any war zone in the world, within a few minutes of the actual initial outbreak of war or international trouble. Sceptics once scoffed at the idea that all people in this vast world would see Christ at the same time. Now, with modern technology, these Scriptures, once mocked, are now possible!
" as birds FLYING so will the Lord of hosts defend Jerusalem " ISAIAH 31:5
Jerusalem was recaptured from the Turks in 1917 when General Allenby had two scout planes fly over the city and drop notes inside its walls requesting the Turks to surrender. When they read Allenby's name in their own language, they thought the notes were signed by the "Prophet of God" - ( "Allah" is "God" and "Nabi" is "Prophet" in Arabic ) The Turks fled the city without a fight and left Jerusalem to the British forces under Allenby!
"..Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows." ISAIAH 60:8
"..The Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people .but they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west." ISAIAH 11:11-14
The ancient land of the Philistines consisted of five major cities in King David's time. The location was from Gaza (near the Egyptian border) along the Mediterranean coast toward Lebanon. Before 1967, Israel's main airport was outside of Jerusalem. It became a centre for terrorist attacks after 1967, so it was closed down and a new airport was built and expanded in Tel-Aviv. The location of this airport is in the "shoulders" of the ancient Philistine territory.
America and other super-power nations have the capability of launching very destructive bombs. Many of the latest military inventions appear to bear resemblance to scriptures given to several Old Testament prophets.
"And the mountains shall be molten under him, and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire " MICAH 1:4
"Howl ye; for the day of the Lord is at hand Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt their faces shall be as flames." ISAIAH 13:6-8
"And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord shall smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongues shall consume away in their mouth " ZECHARIAH 14:12
I am not a specialist on military weapons, but I am aware of several different weapons that can actually melt the flesh from the bones of human beings. Could the above scriptures have a reference to these weapons of mass destruction that will be used at Armageddon?

A THOUGHT FOR THE CLOSING YEAR
One small life in God's great plan,
How futile it seems as the ages roll,
Do what it may or strive how it can,
To alter the sweep of the infinite whole!
A single stitch in an endless web,
A drop in the ocean's flow and ebb!
But the pattern is rent where the stitch is lost,
Or marred where the tangled threads have crossed;
And each life that fails of its true intent
Mars the perfect plan that the Master meant.
