The Prime Minister Tony Blair, is even as we prepare this edition of Kingdom Tidings, in the city of Rome with other European leaders, discussing proposals for a new Constitution for the European Union, the soon coming United States of Europe of which we have been warned in Bible Prophecy. The European Constitution would consign British Sovereignty, Magna Carta, the Bill of Rights, the Revolution Settlement and ultimately our Monarchy to the dustbin of history. We would do well to recall Tony Blair’s own words when contesting the safe Labour Constituency of Sedgefield, Durham to become a first time M.P. -

“The E.E.C., takes away Britain’s freedom to follow the economic policies we need. We will negotiate our withdrawal from the E.E.C., which has drained away our natural resources and destroyed our jobs.”

TRAGIC FATE OF THE WHITE RHODESIAN PENSIONERS

“How long wilt thou forget me, 0 Lord? How long wilt thou hide thy face from me? How long shall my enemies triumph over me?” - (Psalm 13:1-2)

These must be the thoughts of every faithful Christian in Zimbabwe who has clung to his faith through the past devastating years.

The plight of the white pensioners is particularly desperate. Some have already died of starvation. Several have committed suicide. When Mike Miles saw that his wife had gone blind through hunger, he shot her and then turned the gun on himself. One senior employee of Barclays Bank receives what was once the healthy pension of Z$18,000 a month. Today it is worth £15 or less. These are a forgotten people, many of them ex-service men and women still proud to be British. They came to Rhodesia to build a better country and a better world - and today inherit a nightmare of poverty and misery. A few years ago there were 270,000 whites in Zimbabwe. Now about 40, 000 remain.

Where now are the worthless promises of the Lancaster House Agreement?

We, in Open-Bible Ministries, urge you to send a gift, large or small - clearly stating it is to help these white pensioners - to the following address:-

DESPISING THE BLESSED HOPE

The Apostle Paul wrote these inspired words to Titus

“Looking for that blessed hope and (even) the glorious appearing of the great God, and (even) our Saviour Jesus Christ.” - Titus 3:13

This was the hope and expectation of the New Testament Church of God, that the Lord Jesus would return to earth again, destroy the wicked and establish His glorious Kingdom upon planet earth.

They clearly understood this message as the Lord had given it in Parable form.

"A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a Kingdom and to return.” - Luke 19:12

They also understood that Christ’s direct intervention in world affairs would be needed to prevent total annihilation.

"And except those days should be shortened there should be no flesh saved, but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.” - Matthew 24:22

So the people of God lived in the light of this advent hope and eagerly awaited the coming Millennial reign of the Lord Jesus on the earth. It is not surprising that the Roman Catholic Church “condemned as superstitious the belief in a literal future thousand year reign on earth.” This they did at the Council of Fphesus in 431 A.D. They now taught that the church was the Kingdom, they were the new Israel and the reign of the Popes was heaven on earth. This false teaching is found in the writings of the Church “Father” Augustine in his "City of God".

Sadly many called Reformed follow this teaching with certain amendments to this day. They call it POST-MILLENIALISM or DOMINION THEOLOGY. They believe that the church will bring the world to Christ and that when they have got the Kingdom in place they will bring back Jesus. This is a total reversal of the Bible order. It has never been accomplished in the last 2,000 years. They become so obsesssed with this false doctrine that they have no time to look for Christ’s return or to preach the “blessed hope.” It is of little or no concern to them, and it is so sad to see this teaching being brought into our Israel/Kingdom Movement. The Apostle Peter warned us of those who had no time for the Advent hope. He went so far as to call such folk SCOFFERS who would say

“Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” - II Peter 3:4

The Bible does not teach the idea of an expanding church preaching the Gospel and converting everyone. This Post-Millenial theory runs contrary to the Word of God - let us look at some examples

1) “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.” - Il Timothy 3:13.

2) “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears." - II Timothy 4:2.

3) “This know that in the last days, perilous times shall come, for men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of them that are good, traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof.” - II Timothy 3:1-5.

4) “Let no man deceive you by any means for that day shall not come unless there come a falling away (apostasy) first.” - II Thessalonians 2:3.

5) “Jesus answered and said unto them: Take heed that no man deceive you, for many shall come in my name ... and shall deceive many ... many false prophets shall arise and shall deceive many and because iniquity shall abound the love of many shall wax cold ... if it were possible they shall deceive the very elect.” - Matthew 24:4, 5, 11, 12, 24.

6) “Nevertheless when the Son of Man cometh shall He find (the) faith on the earth.” - Luke 18:8.

These Scriptures taken together with many more which we have not quoted, go to show the complete fallacy of the traditional interpretation. In the last days, only a remnant of overcomers will be holding firm and standing fast. The vast majority in professing Christendom will be “wondering after the Beast.”

Poor Post-Millenialists, by the time it is all over they will be mighty glad to see King Jesus coming at the head of the angelic hosts, the armies of heaven, to destroy the enemy as only He can finally do with “the brightness of His coming and to rule from David’s Throne.”

TWO PROPHETIC WARNINGS TO BRITAIN

On February 10, 1978, the late Rt.Hon Enoch Powell OBE addressed a gathering at Heathrow Airport.

Enoch Powell

Inter alia, he said:

“It is one of the handicaps arising from our insularity and a peculiar side-effect of our self-conceit that we are simply incapable of comprehending the depth and durability of the resentment which is held against us by the Germans and the French - by the Germans, for the obvious reason that we defeated them, by the French, for the less obvious but still more potent reason that we did not share their defeat...

We understand nothing if we do not understand the axiomatic nature of the laws of attraction and repulsion between an offshore island nation and the political system of the adjacent continent. Only in that light is the real meaning of the EEC and of the continuing struggle, which dominates British politics, about transforming or ending Britain’s membership to be understood.

The companion piece to the EEC’s intention to “continentalize” Britain’s waters is the EEC’s intention to “continentalize” the British foodmarket. One has to be naive indeed not to understand that the Common Agricultural Policy is to be used to convert into a preserve for the continental producers the largest single food importing area in the world, the United Kingdom, and to do so upon the continental producer’s terms. So the devaluation of the green pound and the fisheries negotiations do link together the two battlefields the sea and the land on which Britain is now fighting to claw back her national independence.

She has to do the fighting without the principal weapons, which have been surrendered, and with an element on the home front embattled against her. It is not the Germans alone against whom the Minister of Agriculture has to hold his own..... he also has the Foreign Office against him. No element in the state has worked over the years so ruthlessly and pertinaciously for the surrender of Britain’s independence to the Western European continent as has the Foreign Office.”

From C. H. Spurgeon:

C.H. Spurgeon

“Cursed is the man before the Lord, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho.” - Joshua 6:26

"Since he was cursed who rebuilt Jericho, much more the man who labours to restore Popery among us! In our father’s days the gigantic walls of Popery fell by the power of their faith, the perseverance of their efforts, and the blast of their gospel trumpets: and now there are some who would rebuild that accursed system upon its old foundations. 0 Lord be pleased to thwart their unrighteous endeavours, and pull down every stone which they build. It should be a serious business with us to be purged of every error which may have a tendency to foster the spirit of Popery, and when we have made a clean sweep at home we should seek in every way to oppose its all too rapid spread abroad in the Church and in the world ... Are we doing all we can for the Gospel? ... What can we do? What will you do?"

C. H. Spurgeon

Will we heed these Watchmen to the House of Israel before it is too late?

THIS IS THE ENEMY PLAN AND GOAL

"We will buld the New World Order piece by piece right under their noses" [the American people]. "The house of the New World Order will have to be built from the bottom up rather than from the top down. An end run around sovereignty, eroding it piece by piece, will accomplish much more than the old-fashioned frontal attack."

RICHARD GARDNER, leading American Socialist, in Foreign Affairs, the journal of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), April 1974.

"He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh." - Psalm 2:4

THE HEALING POWER OF THE LORD’S PRAYER

By

E. W. Abraham

‘Whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer believing, ye shall receive’ - (Matthew 21: 22)

Again and again Jesus told His disciples that whatsoever they asked in His name they would receive. When they asked Him to teach them to pray, He gave them that wonderful, all embracing prayer which is prayed by many millions all over the world every day.

The ‘Lord’s Prayer’ is, perhaps, not often recognized as a healing prayer, and yet there is healing in its every line and clause, whenever we stop to think about it, and to believe it.

When we pray that our heavenly Father’s name may be ‘hallowed’, His Kingdom ‘come’, and His will ‘be done on earth, as these things are done in heaven, we are asking for a pure and perfect world in which such things as sin and sickness are quite unthinkable.

The clause, ‘Give us this day our daily bread’, surely covers more than just our daily material needs but covers our spiritual needs as well, which are far greater and far more important to us than just bread and meat. When we really pray this prayer, believing, we are asking for the ‘true bread from heaven’. Jesus Christ, our Saviour, Redeemer, Healer and King, is the ‘true bread of God which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world’. He said, ‘I am the bread of life: he that cometh to Me shall never hunger; and he that believeth in Me shall never thirst.’ There is healing in every word, in every crumb of that ‘bread of life’, if we will only believe it, and live by it.

The next petition is one of our most frequent stumbling blocks to healing ‘Forgive us our trespasses .. .‘ God is ready and always waiting to do His part; and trespasses forgiven mean sin and sickness healed; but this depends upon us for as we forgive, so shall we be forgiven. How often we forget, or refuse to forgive, little thinking how much depends upon it, how much we need forgiveness, and how black our sins are beside the little hurts that have been done to us. We cannot be healed unless we will forgive; but, when we do forgive, we shall find our Father waiting for us, like the father of the prodigal son, so ready to forgive and heal.

‘And lead us not into temptation.’ An old Aramaic translation renders this: ‘And lead us out from temptation’, which means out of sin and sickness, into health and happiness in God’s presence, because without temptation we could not fall.

The next and final petition of this great healing prayer is ‘But deliver us from evil.’ God undertakes to deliver us from evil whenever we ask in Jesus’ name; and there can be no room for sickness in His care, for His is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory, for ever. Amen.

SUGGESTIONS TO NEW CHRISTIANS

The following are a few things that every new Christian should know about living the Christian life.

You should be baptized

“Repent, and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” - (Acts 2:38)

“And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord.” - (Acts 10:48)

“Many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.” - (Acts 19:8)

You should read your Bible daily

“Thy Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against Thee.” - (Psalm 119:11)

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” - (II Timothy 2:15)

Spend time in His presence praising and praying

“Bless the Lord, 0 my soul, and forget not all His benefits.” - (Psalm 103:2)

“Men ought always to pray, and not to faint.” - (Luke 18:1)

When conscious of having failed Him, confess it

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” - (I John 1:9)

“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.” - (Proverbs 28:13)

Be a witness to others

“Ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” - (Acts 1:8)

“Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee.” - (Mark 5:19)

Meet regularly with other Christians

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” - (Hebrews 10:25)

Fill your life with good works

“This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.” - (Titus 3:8)

0 ISRAEL COME BACK TO JESUS

Chorus:

Oh, Israel, come back to Jesus

Your bridegroom now is calling thee,

Repent of all thy vast transgressions

And you will find our nation free.

Verse:

In the Bible a certain people

Were led by God throughout their days,

We find them still increased in numbers

But sad to say, they've lost their way.

These people now are Anglo-Saxons

Who from the tribes of Israel came,

God gave to them this glorious Kingdom,

With Him on earth, someday they'll reign.

The gospel has been carried by them

To every land and sea and clime.

Praise God, He will not fail His people

But answer prayer, and that, on time.
