PERILOUS TMES HAVE COME

CHRIHINDU TEXTS ON AN ANGLICAN ALTAR

What strange reasoning moves so many churchmen deliberately to include non Christian symbols, texts and the like in Christian places of worship?

Evangelicals in the diocese of Christchurch, New Zealand, were profoundly disturbed when Hindu religious texts were included in an altar cloth designed to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Christchurch Cathedral.

Nor was this a one off incident. May 8th saw a statue of Buddha being erected in honour of Buddha's birthday, and in 2005 the cathedral held a multicultural meeting that featured an Imam issuing a call to prayer, Buddhist prayer, and Hindu dancers. Representatives of Anglican Mainstream, New Zealand, protested at the altar cloth design, their spokesman asking,

“We wonder if they (the cathedral authorities) really believe that only Jesus is ‘the way, the truth, and the life'’?”

One particularly alarming aspect of this controversy is that the local Indian community was consulted about whether Hindus would be offended if Hindu texts were used in a Christian church. It does not appear that checks were made about how loyal Anglicans might feel!

Undertaking not to use the offending altar cloth in worship until the views of the wider Church had been sought, the General Chapter stated that they were “very conscious of the strains within our Anglican Communion at present and do not wish to exacerbate them”.

One can only agree wholeheartedly with the comment of Anglican Mainstream’s representative that, “These and other events hint that an alien theology is at work in the cathedral”.

Art Torres, Chairman of the California Democratic Party: “Remember 187 proposition to deny taxpayer funds for services to non citizens was the last gasp of white America in California.”

Gloria Molina, Los Angeles County Supervisor: “We are politicizing every single one of these new citizens that are becoming citizens of this country. I gotta tell you that a lot of people are saying, ‘I’m going to go out there and vote because I want to pay them back’.”

CHURCH MAGAZINE RECALLED

The Church of Wales has recalled 500 copies of its magazine, featuring a cartoon caricaturing the Prophet Muhammad, and apologised to the Muslim Council of Wales. Similar cartoons sparked violence around the world earlier this year after appearing in European papers. The editor of the Welsh language magazine Y Lian subsequently resigned.

GOOD AS NEW

There is a new Bible translation out called the Good As New Bible. This translation describes itself as “women, gay, and sinner friendly.” Paul commands us that it is better to marry than to burn in lust. The Good As New translates this as, “If you know you have strong needs, get yourself a partner. Better than being frustrated.”

This “Bible” leaves out the Pastoral Epistles and the Book of Revelation but includes the Gospel of Thomas (of The Da Vinci Code fame). Another translation, The Inclusive Bible, shies away from gender specific words for God, Christ, and Adam and replaces “husband” and “wife” with the word partner. It also replaces the words “demon possession” with “mental illness” and “salvation” with “completeness.” World 11/12/05

CHRISTIAN ASSEMBLIES MAIN MEETING

I had the great honour to be a speaker at the Main Meeting or World Conference of the Christian Assemblies International in mid-August at Bradfield Hall near to Reading and Windsor. It was a great thrill to join with some 500 others from UK, Canada, Australia, Germany and many other parts of the world. To see the main auditorium decorated with the flags of the Israel Nations, to enjoy the beautiful music and to join with so many who believe in the Kingdom Message all in Acts 2 v 38. Truly God has not left himself without a witness.

All references are taken for the Authorised Version – Others mistranslate ‘the isles’ to fit their own notions of truth!

The chief nation of Israel, Ephraim, dwells today, along with some Dan, Judah, Simeon, Levi etc, in the BRITISH ISLES. The massive coastlines of North America, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand also belong to the descendants of Joseph: Ephraim and Manasseh. The other tribes of Israel inhabit coastal areas of Scandinavia, Denmark (Dan-mark) and Holland, with pockets in Belgium, France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany & Poland.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that our government can track a cow born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she sleeps in the state of Washington? And, they tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country. Maybe we should give them all a cow.

They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq. Why don’t we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it's worked for over 200 years and we're not using it anymore.

The real reason that we can’t have the Ten Commandments in a courthouse ........You cannot post “Thou Shalt Not Steal,” “Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery” and “Thou Shall Not Lie” in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians – – it creates a hostile work environment.
