IS PROTESTANTISM BEING BETRAYED?

The article by J. Finlay was first published in the South African magazine "Covenant Message" over twenty years ago and recently in the Canadian magazine "Thy Kingdom Come". We feel that it is important to reprint it again because of the apostasy of the times. All that William III, Prince of Orange, gave to Britain in the Act of Settlement and Bill of Rights is being betrayed in Church and State. The Coronation Oath is broken again and again since the Papal visit of 1982 - The Vatican has made amazing advances in Britain. Here is the story of how it all began.

[In referring to Pope John Paul II] "He is the 'People's Pope"… and he has stolen the hearts of Protestant Britons at a time when they are mourning their Falklands dead." - so declared the Sunday Times, 30th May, 1982, when reporting on the Pope's pilgrimage to England's chief shrine of Christianity to preach church unity with the Anglican Primate in Canterbury Cathedral.

"The Pope and Archbishop Robert Runcie announced plans for a new international commission to examine outstanding doctrinal differences between the Roman Catholic and Anglican faiths. The Pontiff and Dr. Runcie signed a common declaration stating they looked forward 'to the next stage of our common pilgrimage in faith and hope toward the unity for which we long'." Other British church leaders were present and all were invited for further talks on this "unity".

Note the key words - "New international commission" and "unity" - or, international unity - one world - one people - one religion. Without doubt, those now engaged in this new ecumenical movement for re-amalgamation with Rome are not only playing down the heroic story of the Reformation heroes but, are prepared to take true Protestants into religious bondage - first into Rome and then into slavery.

In his bogus claim to be the "vicar of Christ" the Pope has usurped the position of heir to the Throne of David .Thus it is not surprising that every effort has been made to infiltrate and control the British Monarchy. This was so in the days of Elizabeth I when the Pope granted absolution to any who would assassinate the Queen and on record is the story of a certain Humphrey Ely who sought absolution while in the London Public Records Office was found the Pope's letter dated December 12th, 1580, in reply to this request. The following is an extract of the reply: "Since that guilty woman of England rules over two such noble Kingdoms of Christendom, and is the cause of so much injury to the Catholic faith, and the loss of so many million souls, there is no doubt that whosoever sends her out of the world with the pious intention of doing God service, not only does not sin but gains merit, especially having regard to the sentence pronounced against her by Pius 5th of holy memory..." Since that time there has been a continuous record of attempts by the Papacy to regain control of Britain and it was because of this that the Act of Settlement was drawn up. This Act lays down that: "Every person that shall hold communion with the See or Church of Rome shall be excluded and forever incapable to possess the Crown and Government of this Realm and Dominions..." Every British Sovereign down to Edward VII adhered to this Act of Settlement but, in 1903, King Edward departed from all precedents and broke the Act by visiting and holding consultations with Pope Leo XIII. He thus committed the very offence that James II had committed and, in point of law, forfeited his right to the Crown, as has the present Queen.

In 1910 at the Coronation of King George V, the King's Accession Declaration was changed, and set out below for comparison, are the two oaths - that of 1689 and of 1910.

The Old Oath

"I, (the Monarch) do solemnly and sincerely in the presence of God profess, testify and declare, that I do believe (1) that in the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper there is not any TRANSUBSTANTIATION of the elements of bread and wine into the body and blood of Christ, at or after the consecration thereof by any person whatsoever; (2) and that the invocation or adoration of the Virgin Mary or any other saint, and the sacrifice of the Mass, as they are now used in the Church of Rome, are superstitious and idolatrous; (3) and I do solemnly in the presence of God profess, testify, and declare, that I do make this Declaration and every part thereof in the plain and ordinary sense of the words read unto me, as they are commonly understood by English Protestants, without any evasion, equivocation, or mental reservation whatsoever, and without any dispensation already granted me for this purpose by the Pope or any other authority or person whatsoever, or without any hope of any such dispensation from any person or authority whatsoever, or without thinking that I am or can be acquitted before God or man, or absolved of this Declaration or any part thereof, although the Pope or any other person or persons, or power whatsoever, should dispense with or annul the same, or declare that it was null and void from the beginning." - (Act of Settlement, Art 12, 13)

[It's interesting to see how this declaration was softened yet it still adhered to the Act of Succession]

"I do solemnly and in the presence of God profess, testify and declare that I am a faithful Protestant, and that I will, accordingly to the true intent of the enactments which secure Protestant succession to the Throne of my Realm, uphold and maintain the said enactments to the best of my powers according to law."

The King's Coronation Oath

At the Coronation in Westminster Abbey, June 22nd, 1911, the Archbishop of Canterbury asked the King (in ratification of the above declaration): "Will you to the utmost of your power maintain the Laws of God, the true profession of the Gospel, and the Protestant Reformed Religion established by Law?" to which the King replied: "All this I promise to do."

In 1923, King George and Queen Mary visited the Pope, thus again breaking the Act of Settlement. In 1927-28 the Archbishops of Canterbury and York with 42 bishops tried to force a new Romanised Prayer Book through Parliament, which had the doctrine of transubstantiation cunningly concealed within its covers - a traitorous act, which, with one blow, would have destroyed the Protestant Accession Declaration and Coronation Oath. This attempt was foiled but Rome has never ceased its efforts while the Royal Family continues to break the Act of Settlement with impunity. Tragically, no one appears perturbed by this, not even the British Parliament which by the Parliamentary Test Act of 1678 is required to publicly repudiate the worship of the Virgin Mary and the Sacrifice of the Mass. The Test Act of 1673 was also a national safeguard for it ensured that all governors or government officials as such could owe allegiance to none other than the Sovereign of England. All officials were required to partake of communion in the Church of England adding to this association a public denial of the Roman institution known as the doctrine of transubstantiation in which it is claimed the Roman priesthood has the power of changing the elements of bread and wine into the literal blood and body of the Lord Jesus Christ. Yet, in more than one way, the British Parliament has ignored these laws of Britain. And is it surprising when one considers this and the Pope's visit to Britain that it has been said "Great Britain, in the eyes of the majority of her own citizens, and as seen by vast numbers of overseas visitors, is a country that has become decadent and corrupt and full of sloth"? Its Monarch, its government and its church leaders have broken faith with the people, reneging on solemn oaths thus destroying British integrity for all time. The people have no yardstick for behaviour and so drift aimlessly ready for the "one world" government now being set up. It is highly significant that the present monarch, Queen Elizabeth has not only contravened the Act of Settlement but Prince Charles, the heir to the throne, has declared he will be the defender of all faiths, thus doing away with the new oath.

Protestantism is in trouble. Britain's politicians - as with most Western countries today "actively encourage this degenerate state, or are complacent about it or when they criticize any aspect of it do so mostly for personal or party ends, without reference to the national good." And the first major step toward taking Britain into the "one world" arena was when the country went into the EU which is "geared to monolithic state control of all enterprise through regulations and directives that lead to total state control of all industry and business, the control of the supply, distribution and pricing of all foodstuffs through the Common Agricultural Policy."

Now it is control of religion and - with the EU countries mainly Catholic - it is not surprising that the Pope's visit to Britain is seen as the final "take over" of Britain.

CHINA'S DRIVE TO WORLD-POWER STATUS

On October 9, 2003, The Age reported that China had taken a cautious step into space being the third nation to send a human being into space. The Shenzhou space module was adapted from the Russian Soyuz space capsules and carried only one person. Mr Xie Guangxuan, former director of the Government's China Rocket Design Department, was quoted as saying, "China's space technology has been created by China itself. We started later than Russia and the United States. It's amazing how fast we've been able to do this."

It is interesting that the American Free Press October 6, 2003, reported that FBI officials have identified more than 3,000 "front" companies in the United States operating as a cover for Chinese spies but have been frustrated because the Bush administration is "slow to act" against the communist country due to Big Business's ties with the "People's Republic". More than 3,000 companies in the US are controlled by China's powerful Secret Intelligence Service (CSIS) and hundreds of Chinese intelligence officers and their well paid informers are operating through these companies within the US.

The FBI sent a "red alert" to all technology companies that they are now the prime targets for Chinese operatives. Corporate executives were asked to review their internal security. Universities like Harvard and Yale provided the FBI with details about Chinese students on campus. Organizers of technology conferences which always attract Chinese scientists were briefed on how to recognize a possible CSIS agent. It was estimated by a State Department Intelligence analyst specializing in Asian and Chinese affairs, that in the three years prior to 2003, as much as US$24 billion worth of secrets had been stolen by the Chinese.

But sources within the Washington intelligence community told American Free Press:

"There is a clear reluctance to move against China. The intelligence consensus is that the president is receiving intense pressure from major US business corporations in the US who, do not want their huge holdings in the People's Republic to be disturbed."

There are hundreds of billions of dollars invested in projects in China by corporations listed on the Forbes Fortune 500. Three hundred companies in Canada were also known to be CSIS fronts.

Chinese Leading Spy Agencies [American Free Press, 6.10.03]:

[Quote] China now has the World's largest intelligence gathering apparatus. As well as CSIS (with an approximate staff of 4,000), a third based overseas, the others are:-

STD: Headquartered in the monolithic Ministry of Defence building in China's capital city, the Science and Technology Department (4,000 members) has two prime functions - (A) collating all signals traffic from the Chinese navy, overseas embassies and satellites and (B) targeting all foreign firms at the cutting edge of military and civilian technology.

MID: Reports to the "Politburo" and Army General Staff. Brief includes updating all foreign military capabilities. Members attached to every Chinese embassy and consulate. Number of staff estimated at 1,500.

ILD: Small specialist unit (300 members) - conducts high-tech intelligence gathering.

MSS: Equivalent to the FBI but three times larger with a staff of 3,500. Targets all foreigners in China and spies on its own citizens.

NCNA: Nominally a news agency, reporting on Chinese affairs. Based in all major countries. Has long been a cover for all other Chinese intelligence agencies engaged in clandestine activities. [End quote]

As China and India compete with each other to become the fastest growing economy in the world they are swamping the industrial West with low cost consumer goods with which we are unable to compete.

It was reported in June last year that car production in the world had a 30 per cent over capacity so that stiffer competition and stagnant markets face every car producing country. Of the 2.7 million vehicles produced by China last year 900,000 were for export. Industrialized nations, including Australia, welcomed China into World Free Trade via the World Trade Organization but, as over increases, competition for markets will intensify and we will reap the whirlwind.

The Chinese output is rising at an alarming rate and is capable of flooding the world market at prices no one can rival. Multinationals have poured US$22 billion into car manufacturing ventures in China since the 1980's enabling China to export its surplus at prices which will displace national car industries. Volkswagen has committed a further AU$8 billion for further expansion in China during the next 5 years.

India's expansion is also incredible with its predominance in Communications Technology, and Multinationals are pouring investments into a country which once invested in Western economies. India is expected by some to outpace China within 5 years. On October 19, 2004, India announced at the Third India ASEAN Business Summit in New Delhi that it wanted to set up an Asian Economic Community that would include ASEAN countries; China; Japan; South Korea and India creating a huge market stretching from the Himalayas to the Pacific Ocean. It would be as large as the European Union and rival the Latin American Free Trade Agreement in size. It is expected that Japan and China would become leaders in the suggested Asian Economic Community. However, China is working towards gaining ultimate control.

Latin America

The current strengthening of Sino Latin relations could mark the beginning of the end of US domination in Latin America. The Phil. Trumpet, Feb. 2005 p.21, reported that "for Brazil and Venezuela, the strategic partnership with China also includes strengthening a multi-polar geopolitical framework that challenges US hegemony."

Chinese oil and gas companies will be assured access to contracts in Venezuela ranging from exploration and production of crude oil and gas, to the construction of refineries and petrochemical plants. Although Venezuela is the 4th largest supplier of oil to the US, it seeks to break free, of its reliance on America, and is using China's "thirst for oil" to achieve this.

US influence in Latin America will wane as Chinese companies already own critical sea gates in the region. China, through the front company of Hutchison Whampoa Ltd., controls the Panama Canal and also one of the world's largest container ports- Freeport, Bahamas.

Both are critical for the import of oil into the US because the greatest concentration of refineries, terminals and storage facilities, including the nation's Strategic Petroleum Reserve, is in the Gulf of Mexico region. This means that much of the oil must pass through the Caribbean region, a route now significantly controlled by China.

Now one of China's top four crude oil suppliers, Iran, has secured a preliminary oil and natural gas agreement with China potentially valued at tens of billions of dollars. This is in line with China's establishment of a huge deepwater port in Gwadar, Pakistan, at the entrance to the Persian Gulf.

China and the World's Sea "Gates":

The Phil. Trumpet, Jan. 2005, reports that [Quote]

"over the past two decades, China has quietly and steadily secured a position on almost every sea gate in the Pacific, Indian and Atlantic oceans: Even the British ports of Thameside and Felixstowe and the world's largest seaport, Rotterdam, have been penetrated by Chinese interests. From Suez to Panama, the Straits of Malacca to the Persian Gulf, from Poland to Pakistan, China has steadily moved to take over control of the major cargo handling facilities at the world's most strategic trade choke points. Amazingly, the US has even permitted this nation, a declared enemy, to build and to control the largest container port in the world in Freeport, Bahamas just 60 miles south of its own backyard"[End quote]

The Phil. Trumpet also points out that one of the prime attributes of British power under the "Pax Britannica" which largely secured the world in comparative peace, for a century and more, was the British Empire's literal possession of every major sea gate in the world, although those strategic control points were not fully secured until the 18th and 19th centuries.

"When the British Empire held sway, it controlled all sea gate access to Palestine, the common name given to the general land area which incorporates the City of Jerusalem, while Suez, the Dardanelles, Oman, Gibraltar, Malta and Cyprus were all under the British flag. It was, impossible for any foreign nation to enter the vicinity of Palestine by sea without permission from the British Navy. The British also controlled access to the Khyber Pass, which is the major strategic land gateway to Palestine from Asia via the Hindu Kush Mountains. All that is now history.

Britain and America have given away their possession, of this world's major gates. Turkey has the Bosporus, Pakistan has the Khyber, Oman is in Islamic hands, and German patrol boats secure the Mediterranean on behalf of the European Union. And who stands at both ends of perhaps the most crucial gate of all, the Suez Canal? China!"

CHINA is the biggest customer for Russian weaponry. The second most important market for Russian weapons is India.

After the Tsunami catastrophe, India refused permission for Israeli and American military air and sea landing rights in that country.

Against Washington's wishes, Russia and Iran are preparing to build a second atomic reactor in the Persian Gulf. The decision, says Teheran, has in principle already been made, and the details will follow.

Rense.com reprints views from the India Daily: Russian President Putin is taking a lead role in putting together the most powerful coalition of regional and superpowers in the world. The coalition consists of India, China, Russia and Brazil. This will challenge the superpower supremacy of America as well as the European Union. The Chinese are concerned about American influence over the world. So are India, Brazil and Russia.

Brazil is in South America in the American corridor. According to Stratfor, a strategic think tank, Russian President Putin visited Brazil in November. He wants to establish a long term Russian footprint in Latin America, and Brazil is open to the concept of coalition where large countries support each other in terms of trade, economics, international politics and defence.

According to other think tanks, this coalition will have an overwhelming influence over the United Nations. Russia and China are permanent members of the security council. India and Brazil are in the process of becoming the same. In terms of population, the coalition will have three quarters of the world population, largest amount of resources and largest pool of technical and scientific talent.

China moving to secure strategic raw materials

Ultimately, in the context of the looming Peak Oil, or global oil depletion, Russia and China and the EU-possibly aided by Iran-will inevitably seek strategic energy security in the face of a now obvious U.S. bid to control all major oil choke points. Russia and the Caspian states, with Iran, comprise the only obvious energy alternative for China, India and the EU. All the cat and mouse political games between Paris and Washington and Berlin and Moscow to Beijing, revolve around this harsh reality. It defines what some have called a 'new Cold War', a cold war over energy.

Last year China passed Japan to become world number two oil importer after the USA. ... China has been courting Putin to get a major share of the troubled Yukos oil empire. At the end of December, the Russian Energy Minister announced that China's CNPC would be allowed to buy up to a 20% stake in a Yukos subsidiary. ... China lost huge oil contracts in Iraq after the U.S. took Baghdad in March 2003. A $100 billion China Iran natural gas deal was signed last fall. The deal could total $200 billion over 25 years ... China has also been eager to sign a deal with Putin for a pipeline to bring oil from Russia to China. Clearly Russia is keen to keep maximum flexibility and not become over dependent on China.

China Russia military steps

On December 27 last, Beijing and Moscow announced their first ever joint military exercises, in China. The timing was a message to Washington regarding its intervention in Ukraine. Russia is responding to pressure on its Western borders by turning to alliances in the East. This could have major strategic implications. Putin sees it as a step to his long sought triangle of Moscow, Beijing and New Delhi. China, still under the U.S. imposed 1989 Tiananmen Square arms embargo, is Moscow's largest arms buyer. For China, a Russian alliance has a strategic dimension of greater access to Russian energy. A major question is to what extent Berlin, and even Paris, will now shift away from or decide to develop closer energy and strategic co-operation with Russia.

(The author of the above poem, written over a century ago, is not known. It was first published in 1901 in the book "History of the Union Jack" by Barlow Cumberland, and the poem was credited to an anonymous writer signing himself "St. George".)
