LOOKING AT OIL AND THE MID-EAST The present world war is still in its early stages. Washington says it plans to end the occupation [of Iraq], yet it is building 14 permanent large bases in Iraq plus an embassy the size of Montana to help the new Iraqi government force democratic law on to Moslems, who want their highest law to be Islamic. One result is negative real interest rates that could trigger a runaway inflation and huge profits in gold. There's nothing you or I can do to stop this insanity, so we might as well continue making money from it. War is the normal condition on this planet, peace is the exception. Presently, I count 74 crisis areas in Chaostan [north Africa Mid-East to southeast Asia]. Much of the earth's deposits of raw materials are in Chaostan, including a reported 81% of the oil. It can only be a matter of time before the spreading turmoil cuts supplies of raw materials drastically, causing prices to soar ever higher. In February and March 2004, we warned that foreign central banks cannot prop up the dollar forever. Now the Economist reports central banks may have reached their limits and have halted dollar support efforts. The world has returned to an environment very conducive to a gold and silver boom. WHO PROTECTS THE OIL SUPPLY LINES? In the 1990s, Washington's European allies made drastic cutbacks in their armed forces. Most of the world's navies are barely more than shadows of their former selves. Without any public discussion or vote, the Clinton and Bush administrations took on the job of protecting world oil facilities and shipping routes.
Recent months have brought a flurry of attacks on oil pipelines, refineries, offshore platforms and ships. In April [2004] for example U.S. warships helped repel attacks on two Persian Gulf oil platforms. In May, a pipeline through Turkey was shut down by an attack. In June, saboteurs blew up pipelines feeding Gulf terminals, briefly cutting the world's daily oil supply 2%. Fifteen miles offshore of Iraq, a small armada of warships circles oil pipeline terminals to keep them from being blown up by bombs delivered in small boats. The U.S. Navy has 295 warships, and fully 10% are already in the relatively small area in and around the Gulf trying to protect the oil. Most of that oil belongs to non-Americans.
Consider the size of the task confronting the GOOP. The oil industry is so big that no one has the foggiest idea how big. Surfing the Internet for total miles of oil and gas pipeline, I came up with estimates that Saudi Arabia contains 10,500 miles of primary line, the former Soviet Union 39,000, and the U.S. 230,000. We are talking about primary line only, in just three countries. For a world estimate, it is probably safe to assume there are at least a million miles of primary line, and surely another million of secondary line, plus hundreds of shipping terminals and refineries, and at least 20,000 pumping stations to keep the oil and gas moving through the pipelines. To those, add hundreds of tanker ships, and tens of thousands of miles of railway that carry oil tank cars. Also include scores of primary and hundreds of secondary fresh water and salt water shipping routes. This means probably at least 100,000 miles of ocean and inland waterways vulnerable to explosives laden small boats, mines, pirates and missiles.
In the past eight months, oil pipelines in Iraq have been hit more than 130 times. On June 24th, the International Chamber of Commerce reported "a sudden increase in gun-toting pirates" in the Strait of Malacca. HOW LONG UNTIL THE OIL CRISIS ESCALATES? The Democrats and Republicans in the White House and Congress thought they could attack Saddam Hussein and keep the chaos confined to Iraq. They were wrong (big surprise!). Iraq is Pandora's Box. Bordering Iraq is Saudi Arabia, which contains so much oil that the Saudi tribe controls the world price. So, how long until the war spreads into Saudi Arabia? The answer is, no time at all, it's already there. On July 14th, oil jumped $1.53 after two oil tanker crews refused to load at Basra, fearing their ships would be attacked. A full blown war on the world's oil infrastructure is developing, and serious supply disruptions will be with us for decades. RICHARD MAYBURY, U.S. & World Early Warning Report, USA We reprint this excellent article from the Impact Magazine In the light of the fact that oil will be one of the "hooks in the jaws" that gathers the nations to the Great Battle of the Day of God Almighty.
Tony Blair's photo opportunity at Number 10 with distinguished members of the Jewish community, including his Middle East adviser Lord Levy and the Board of Deputies president Henry Grunwald, is big news in the Jewish Chronicle. The picture caption says the Israeli Ambassador, Zvi Heifetz, and members of his family "joined Tony Blair for the first ever Chanukah lighting ceremony at 10 Downing Street." A rabbi friend says: "Lord Levy and the Ambassador ought to have been lighting candles in the privacy of their own homes with their own families. To do so in Number 10, where, presumably, Chanukah is not observed by the Anglican/Catholic family who live there, makes no sense at all." EPHRAIM HARDCASTLE Daily Mail (17.12.04) "One day millions of people will leave the southern hemisphere to invade the northern hemisphere - certainly not as friends because they will come to conquer you. And they will accomplish this because they will have populated the northern hemisphere with their children. The bodies of our women will ensure our victory." HOUARI BOURMEDIENNE, former Algerian head of state and party chief, at the U.N. General Assembly in 1974 Tony Blair last month stated what we already knew, but it was still interesting to get it from the horse's mouth: he has completely given up on trying to stem the flood of people now coming into Britain from Africa. In an extraordinary four page article in The Economist just after Christmas, the Prime Minister said that trying to shut the country's borders to mass immigration from Africa was 'utterly futile'. He explained:- "We must now all accept the utter futility of trying to shut our borders to problems abroad. Famine in Africa will affect our countries because it will be a trigger for mass migration." So now no one in this country should be in any further doubt. Only nine months after promising to tighten up on immigration controls, our Premier has revealed the real truth. He is not even going to try to stop hordes more Africans coming in. He has simply hoisted the white flag.
MORE than $100 million has been sent by Saudi benefactors to Australian Moslems over the last 20 years. The money has gone towards building mosques, schools and establishing Islam in Australia. Sydney Morning Herald It is often claimed by liberal Biblical scholars that Moses did not write the Pentateuch (the first five books of the Old Testament). These scholars hold to a view called the Documentary Hypothesis on the Origin of the Pentateuch (hereafter: Documentary Hypothesis). The Documentary Hypothesis claims that there were four sources for the Pentateuch that were written hundreds of years after Moses. These sources are the "J" source (for the Jehovah source); the "E" source (for the Elohim source); the "D" source (for the Deuteronomical source); and the "P" source (for the Priestly source). It is claimed by these liberal Biblical scholars that these four sources were written from about 850 B.C.E. to about 450 B.C.E. and then compiled together about 400 B.C.E. by a redactor or editor, to form our present day Pentateuch. Now, if the Documentary Hypothesis is correct then we should in all probability expect to find some awareness of it among the ancient (before 476 C.E.) Jewish, Christian or pagan scholars or writers. However, there is no extant record of any ancient scholar or writer who knows of the Documentary Hypothesis. Instead, there was a general agreement among the ancient Jewish and Christian scholars or writers that Moses wrote the Pentateuch. A couple examples of ancient scholars who attributed the Pentateuch to Moses are the famed Jewish historian Josephus (c.37 - c.100 C.E.) and the famed Christian Theologian Augustine 2 (c.360 -c.430 C.E.) According to an ancient tradition preserved by and accepted by the Christian scholars Irenaeus (c.120 - c.200 C.E.), Clement of Alexandria (c.150 - c.215 C.E.), Tertullian (c.160 - c.225 C.E.), and Eusebius (c.260 - c.340 C.E.) when the Babylonians invaded Jerusalem in 586 B.C.E. they destroyed the Pentateuch. Then after the Jewish exile in Babylon, God inspired Ezra (c. 450 B.C.E.) to rewrite the Pentateuch. This tradition was also accepted by the pagan philosopher Porphyry (c.232 - c305 C.E.) who said that Ezra and his contemporaries wrote the Pentateuch eleven hundred years after Moses. That Ezra rewrote the Pentateuch from memory was the position of the Christian scholar Ambrose (c.340 - c.400 C.E.). And the Christian scholar John Chrysostom (c. 350 - c. 407 C.E.) says that God inspired Ezra to rewrite the Pentateuch from remains extant in his day. Also, the Christian scholar Jerome (c.337 - c.420 C.E.) was familiar with a tradition that Ezra rewrote the Pentateuch. Now, if our present day Pentateuch was not a copy of Moses but of Ezra, then this would explain the updated material in it that liberal Biblical scholars have used to deny that Moses wrote the Pentateuch. One example of an updated material in the Pentateuch is the mention of the area of Dan in Northern Israel in Genesis 14:4 and in Deuteronomy 34: 1, when the tribe of Dan did not inherit and name this land until the conquest under Joshua (Joshua 19:47) and until the time of the Judges (Judges 18:29). Now, if Ezra rewrote the Pentateuch then he could have called this area Dan when it was not called Dan during the time of the Pentateuch. Another example of an updated material in the Pentateuch is Deuteronomy 34:10 which says, "There arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face." Liberal Biblical scholars claim that Moses could not have written this but it must have been written after Moses. However, if Ezra rewrote the Pentateuch then he could have made an editorial comment in comparing Moses to the other prophets after him. One last example of an updated material in the Pentateuch is Exodus 1:11 which says that the Israelites built a city called Ramses. Now, this city was not named Ramses until the Pharaoh Ramses II (c. 1250 B.C.E.) called it by that name. Therefore, liberal Biblical scholars have claimed that Moses could not have written about the city of Ramses because if we accept the latest Biblical date for Moses (c.1526 - c.1406 B.C.E.) then he lived before Ramses II. However, if Ezra rewrote the Pentateuch then he could have used this name for the city called Ramses, which was in current use in his (Ezra's) day. In light of the evidence presented, and more that is available, conservative Biblical scholars and serious students of the Bible should hold to the view that Moses wrote the original Pentateuch. To do so would be in agreement with thousands of scholars since antiquity who attribute the Pentateuch, or the original Pentateuch, to Moses.
