“Ships of the Kingdom of Great Britain shall bear on their main tops the Red Cross called St. Georges Cross and the White Cross called St. Andrews.”

In his keynote speech to the Fabian Society's “Future of Britishness” Conference in January this year, the Chancellor of the Exchequer (Gordon Brown M.P) called for all the Queen's Subjects to embrace the Union Flag.

At the outset let me say that I am no fan or friend of Gordon Brown: the man widely tipped to succeed Tony Blair as Leader of the Labour Party and, quite possibly, as British Prime Minister in the next two or three years. Brown, like Blair, has been party to destroying much of what I consider to be our unique British culture and heritage by, for example, (i). enacting the 1998 Human Rights Act (incorporating the European Convention on Human Rights into U.K. domestic law) which has often upheld the rights of criminals and terrorists to the detriment of their victims’ rights; (ii). undermined the hereditary principle of the monarchy by annulling the right of all but a remnant of hereditary peers to sit and vote in the House of Lords; (iii). weakened the legislative union by establishing the Scottish Parliament, Welsh Assembly and the Northern Ireland Assembly (rather than allowing the United Kingdom Parliament to continue legislating for the U.K. as a whole and concentrating on devolving solely the power to execute and apply legislation to locally elected representatives in the component parts of the Kingdom); and (iv). introducing far reaching changes to policing, criminal justice, local government and public administration in Northern Ireland as a result of provisions made in, and since, the signing of the Good Friday Agreement.

So what does embracing the Union Flag mean to me? In an age when, to many, it would appear that the world is becoming smaller via faster and quicker communications (e.g, mobile phones and the internet) to say nothing of the ongoing efforts either to take Northern Ireland out of the United Kingdom and into an All Ireland Republic or surrender our national sovereignty to the European Union it is little wonder that the Union Flag itself is under attack from all who claim it to be an obstacle to global unity and lasting peace.

Alas our enemies, more than many of our fellow countrymen it would appear, seem to understand that the Union Flag is no ordinary flag: it has a profound Biblical significance and is the banner of God's Covenant People: Israel Britain.

The Union Flag is a combination of the Cross of St. George, Patron Saint of England (a red cross on a white background), the Cross of St. Andrew, Patron Saint of Scotland (a white diagonal cross on a blue background), and the Cross of St. Patrick, Patron Saint of Ireland (a red diagonal cross on a white background). The Union Flag was first introduced four hundred years ago in 1606 after the Union of the Kingdoms of England and Scotland under one sovereign. The Cross of St. Patrick was added in 1801 after the Act of Union of Great Britain and Ireland, whilst it is believed that the Cross of St. Patrick as it is currently depicted on the Union Flag was not broken until the secession of what was then called the Irish Free State (now the Republic of Ireland) from the Union of Great Britain and Ireland in 1920: the breaking of St. Patrick's Cross representing, politically, the fracturing of the legislative union of England, Scotland and Ireland.

Each of the three crosses on the Union Flag has a spiritual significance. The Cross of St. George the flag which flew over the Golden Hind when Sir Francis Drake defeated the Spanish Armada in 1588 reminds us that God is with us and will deliver us from our enemies if we put our trust in Him, just as the bloodstained cross at Calvary is a reminder of deliverance from sin for all who accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour.

The saltire Cross of St. Andrew is not unlike a multiplication sign which reminds us of God's promises to our forefathers (Abraham, Issac and Jacob) that He would multiply their seed and that Israel (i.e., Britain) would become a “great” nation and company of nations if we kept His commandments; hence the Union of the United Kingdom of "Great" Britain and Northern Ireland, and the rise of what was the British Empire (now the British Commonwealth), established by indigenous Britons taking with them the infallible Word of God to the four corners of the earth.

The broken Cross of St. Patrick is a reminder of our current pitiful state of affairs: of how we individually and nationally have broken our covenant relationship with Almighty God, by sinning against Him, which has separated us from our union with Christ.

The three colours on the Union Flag, likewise, have a spiritual significance. Red reminds us that whilst our sins are crimson/scarlet, without the shedding of Christ's precious blood on Calvary's cross as atonement for our sins there is no remission for our transgressions. White reminds us of the holiness and purity of Almighty God, to whom His Covenant People are drawn by the irresistible grace of the Holy Spirit. Blue reminds us of our Heavenly origin and destiny of the British race/Israel people.

Taken together, the Red, White and Blue of the Union Flag remind us of the tabernacle where our forefathers worshipped God on their way from Egypt to Canaan and in which the tables of stone bearing the Ten Commandments were kept, as the frame of the tent was draped in red, white and blue coverings; as such, our Union Flag reminds us that, individually and nationally, we need to (i). accept and proclaim the Reformed Faith; (ii). live our lives according to God's Commandments; and (iii). keep ourselves a pure and holy people under the LORD Our God. This means earnestly contending for the faith once delivered to the saints and opposing political and spiritual union with the heathen. One therefore commends Mike Penning M.P. for tabling Early Day Motion 1415 in the House of Commons, “That this House believes that the Union Flag should be flown daily on all public buildings in the United Kingdom as a demonstration of national confidence and pride”, and implores you to write to your M.P. at the House of Commons, Westminster, London, SW1A 0AA, to urge him/her to sign it.

In short, in this the 400th anniversary of the initial flying of the Union Flag, I pray that each of us will renew our loyalty to the Union of the United Kingdom and, more importantly, dedicate our lives to maintaining the more important and lasting union: the union between God and Man, through sustaining and strengthening a personal relationship with Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Birmingham University’s Christian Union has been banned from using Student Union Guild rooms and facilities, and has had its bank accounts frozen by Guild authorities after refusing to make changes to their constitution on religious grounds.

The Students’ Union at Birmingham University wanted to impose one of their own leaders onto the CU executive, open membership to people of all faiths and beliefs, and instructed the Christian fellowship to change its constitution from ‘men and women’ to ‘people’, to make it more inclusive for transsexual/transgender persons to become members.

Andy Weatherley, CU staff worker in Birmingham, said: ‘As a Christian Union, we restrict membership to only those people who profess faith in Jesus Christ. It is a fundamental right of any organisation to be able to include in its membership only those who abide by the ethos and focus of the organisation.

We believe this to be true for all organisations within the Student Union, not just religious or ethnic ones. We are not a special interest group there to attract people with similar interest but a Union of Christians.

Whilst our meetings are open to all people, believers and unbelievers, when it comes to being a voting member or leader of the Christian Union we feel it is perfectly respectable to restrict access to people who call themselves Christians.’

CLASSIC works from Britain's best poets are being dropped from GCSE course work and replaced by offerings from Pakistan and the West Indies in order to promote the multi cultural society. Chaucer, Blake, Milton, Keats, Gray and Tennyson have all been blackballed by exam boards and students told to focus on poems from Africa and Asia.

The required poetry anthology has only 15 classic poems out of a total of 64, but includes the likes of Moniza Alvi's Presents from My Aunts in Pakistan and John Agard's Half-Caste written in Caribbean dialect.

The work of the poets of the Great War, Siegfried Sassoon and Wilfred Owen have also been axed. The latter's work, Anthem for Doomed Youth, seems to aptly describe this latest censorship of British culture.

In their efforts to promote multi-culturalism, educationalists are denying schoolchildren the chance of understanding, reciting and listening to the best of British poetry.

HINDUS AND SIKHS TO PETITION EUROPEAN HUMAN RIGHTS COURT FOR FUNERAL PYRES IN NORTH EAST ENGLAND

The Anglo Asian Friendship Society, based in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, plans to petition Newcastle City Council and the European Court of Human Rights to ensure that the dead bodies of Hindus and Sikhs are cremated on traditional funeral pyres instead of in crematoriums.

Britain's large minority of Hindus and Sikhs say that arrangements for the deceased within their communities are different from what is ordained by the Hindu and Sikh scriptures. Frequently, families take the bodies to India for cremation according to proper rituals. Davender Ghai, president of the Society, told the press:

“Many Hindus and Sikhs in England object to mechanic gas fuelled cremation but, without any alternative, reluctantly comply. Now our legal team is preparing a case under the 1998 Human Rights Act and may plead directly to the European Court of Human Rights”.

The British government already allow parts of the Thames, Aire, Calder, Soar and Wye rivers for the ashes of deceased Hindus and Sikhs to be scattered. The rulers of the Hindu temples have declared these rivers as ‘extensions of the Ganges’.

THE British Army has received its first Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu and Sikh ‘chaplains’, in line with a politically correct Government initiative to make the services appear more inclusive.

But the move backfired when it was revealed just how unwilling members of the ethnic minorities actually are to fight for what most of them clearly do not regard as their country.

An imam will minister to just 305 Muslims, a guru to just 220 Buddhists, a priest to just 230 Hindus, and a priestess to just 90 Sikhs. There are 183,000 Christian soldiers, with 300 padres looking after their spiritual needs.

The numbers reveal how little these minorities really identify with our country, beyond the useful formality of its passport. If Muslims were in the Army in proportion even to the (absurdly low) official figure of 1.6 million of them living in Britain, there would be over 5,500 Islamic squaddies, not just 305.

In fact, there are certainly more British born Muslims, with British passports, fighting in the ranks of al Qaeda and the Taliban than in the British Army. This is because they know which side their religion puts them on, and that's an allegiance even the commissioning of a mullah as a chaplain officer in our army won't be able to change.

THE traditional carol service held at Preston Town Hall was cancelled and will be replaced by a multi-cultural celebration to be held six weeks after Christmas.

“It will be a peace and harmony type event, something culturally cohesive so it is more inclusive and appropriate in my mayoral year.”

Britain's second major eruv is set to begin now that Barnet Council and the Edgware eruv committee have signed a licence allowing its construction. An eruv is a ‘fence’ marking a zone in which Orthodox Jews can carry out tasks otherwise forbidden on the Sabbath. It may be defined, for example, by stringing fishing line between posts around a specified perimeter.

A hospital in West Yorkshire, banned visitors from cooing at newborn babies over fears that the infants’ human rights were being violated.

Rev. Southwick was born December 1, 1918, in Lakeland, Florida. As young boy, he and his family moved to Burbank, California. He was always interested in sports and was a star football player on the Burbank High School football team, graduating in 1936. George also had a great love for books and had a passion for his collection of more than 12,000.

George attended Life Bible College in Los Angeles where he studied under Sister Aimee Semple McPherson receiving his divinity ordination in the Foursquare denomination. He further went on to attain three more ordinations in the Assemblies of God, Apostolic Holiness and Whosoever Will denominations. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity in 1998 in Jacksonville, Florida.

George married the love of his life, Leona Rasmussen, on March 1, 1942. In their early married life they spent a great deal of time in Upper Michigan and the Great Lakes region. These years were special and created a firm foundation for the life of service in the ministry, pastoring several churches and preaching at many locations all over the world. George loved spending time on evangelistic tours, as well. He and Leona went on to have four children, Carol, Philip, Wanda and Paul. Over the years, eight grandchildren came along, then recently, two great grandchildren and one more expected in May. In 1975, George and Leona began The Bible Educator Ministry, Inc., and he maintained a tape ministry until his death. He has friends all over the world and received phone calls daily to talk about theology. His deep faith was the core of his life and love. His Memory will not soon be forgotten.

We have fond memories of his visit to Ulster and Mainland Britain in the 1980’s and the many times he hosted Pastor Campbells’ visits to U.S.A.

Son of the world famous classical violinist Yehudi Menuin has been sacked from his post as head of the German branch of the Yehudi Menuim Foundation after he publicly criticised Jewish coreligionists of being part of “a Jewish conspiracy that pressurises Germany by dwelling on that country’s sense of war guilt.”

“He that toucheth you toucheth the apple of His eye” is spoken concerning God's Zion. Which is now spread abroad throughout the earth by the distribution of Israel from the North, by the distribution of the Anglo-Saxon race, Isaac's sons, throughout the earth in accordance with his prophecy,

A FINAL THOUGHT

It is not enough for a gardner to love flowers, he must also hate the weeds.

There is a renewed campaign to add fluoride to the nation's water supplies “to reduce tooth decay”.

What is not realised is that fluoride is a major inhibitor of enzymes (after mercury and arsenic), which are the major operatives in the immune system. In Holland, Dr. Hans Moolenburgh campaigned against its addition to water and was strongly opposed by the government and medical agencies. He pointed out that cities that had been fluoridated had higher cancer rates - a fact confirmed by another doctor who successfully treated cancer. During his campaign, he heard from several sources that it had a subduing effect upon people. One source said that he had shipped large amounts to Russia to put into the water of the German prisoners to keep them calm. He had also seen the effect upon children in a fluoridated part of Ireland.

The Germans planned to fluoridate the occupied countries as they had found it affected the brain and made people more docile. Moolenburgh points out that several major tranquillizers are a fluoride compound, and said that this rumour was more persistent than others he had heard!

The Dutch campaigned vigorously, meetings were packed and eventually the proposal was overturned. What was also interesting was that in this country, an anti fluoridation group was started, but was strikingly ineffective; nothing ever seemed to be done. Eventually, the members complained, the “leader” resigned, and the campaign disintegrated. Was this far sighted planning by those intent on fluoridating our water supplies?

Mass medication of this nature seems to be far fetched, but what about the dangerous “cocktail” of vaccinations given to the Gulf War soldiers, despite the authorities being warned that this could damage health? The MOD protested that there was no evidence of damage, but they have now had a court case against them that could cost millions in compensation. Meanwhile, many soldiers have had their lives ruined. And what about the MMR concoction that suffering parents still claim damaged their children...

It is universally accepted that tooth decay is due to bacteria on the surface of the teeth damaging the enamel, but is this correct? There are many tribes that never use a toothbrush yet have excellent teeth. Why is this?

Experiments found that the problem starts with excess of protein, carbohydrates and fat that creates blood acidity and this chokes the blood supply to the nerve pulp. This weakened material then migrates to the surface and appears as “caries” or tooth decay.

In one experiment, 341 children were kept in good dental health by eating a good diet and a pint of fresh orange juice a day.

As for mercury fillings! Some 4.25% of people are susceptible to mercury, and when hot drinks are taken, the fillings can give off fumes of mercury that can lodge in various organs of the body. Female dentists were 3.5 times more likely to suffer sterility. Removal of mercury fillings is extremely expensive as the dentist must be fully masked and the air removed by vacuum pump lest he inhales any of the mercury.

Dentists were pressurised not to discuss the subject with patients because of “scare mongering”, and they were threatened with being struck off if they did so!
