A LETTER FROM YOUR EDITOR AND A REPORT ON ANOTHER YEAR'S WORK Dear Friends and Co-Workers, Let me begin by apologising for the fact you have received no magazine since October: many of you may also have not received replies to your letters or receipts for your gifts. There has been a valid reason for all of this. About two weeks after returning from my North American trip and meetings in Scotland, I sustained what the doctors call a T.I.A. or mini-stroke. The result was a freezing sensation in my left hand and at the left corner of my mouth. It felt like an injection from a dentist that did not go away. I was diagnosed with hypertension and very high blood pressure which they are attempting to bring down. We were able to keep the meetings going except in a few cases and I would like to thank those who transported me, to avoid night driving. However the magazines and the mail got way behind. Now a report on the work over the last twelve months. MEETINGS I spoke at some 125 meetings. This includes 10 trips to the mainland with services and mini-Conventions at Durham, Shipley, Wellington, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Orange Street Church in London. It was also my privilege to address some 500 believers at the Christian Assemblies International Conference in England and also to visit their Headquarters in Scotland. In addition I held three weeks of meetings in North America at Toronto, Burnaby and Spokane. RADIO We have continued our weekly broadcasts on 981 in MW and 845 in MW and will soon enter our eight year of broadcasting with Radio Star Country. It has been our best year ever with many requests for literature and for prayer. The response to our series of broadcasts Defending the King James Bible was truly amazing. We would like to thank Mr John Watson for all his work in producing the broadcastsand opening his home as a studio for the work. As soon as we can raise the sum of £ 10,000/$20,000 we hope to do a deal to put the Kingdom Message on T.V. TAPES - CD'S AND INTERNET Once again we are indebted to Glyn Jones for the work that he does in this field. All current recordings of meetings are now available in both CD and Cassette format. This last year some 4,000 items went into circulation. By means of the Internet hundreds world wide are able to listen to our message and the following statistics speak for themselves. BOOKS We reprinted the classic "How God Won The War" and my own new booklet "The Way We Are Now." As we enter this NewYear of 2007 with all its challenges-we ask for your prayers and practical support as we seek to work for our Lord while it is still day. SICK BRITANNIA The following articles are proof positive if it were needed that Christian Britain is not Tony Blair's "Cool Britannia" but is rapidly becoming "SICK BRITAIN". CHRISTIAN COURSE IN PRISON AXED A pioneering Christian course for prisoners has been closed by the Prison Service after criticism that it does not comply with "diversity policies." The Inner Change programme was axed after apparently falling foul of the Government's "multi faith" approach. CHAPEL STRIPPED OF ITS CROSS "Political correctness" is running crazy in UK. One instance:A crematorium chapel was ordered to remove a wooden cross that had hung on the wall for 50 years. This was part of a drive to "protect respect for all faiths." And the chapel would now be called the "ceremony hall." REFUGE FOR HOMELESS TO LOSE GRANT FOR SAYING GRACE AT MEALTIME A Christian refuge for homeless young people has been told it stands to lose crucial county council funding because grace is said before meals. The Barnabas House refuge, set up more than a decade ago by King's Lynn Baptist Church, has been told by Norfolk Council (East England), that prayers, Bibles placed in rooms and advertising for Christian events are all "inappropriate." It has also been told that it must relax the strict ban on any alcohol or drugs. BBC ADMITS ANTI-CHRISTIAN BIAS Top BBC executives have admitted that the Corporation is institutionally biased against Christianity. The Mail on Sunday reported a leaked account of an "impartiality summit" called for by BBC Chairman Michael Grade. Among revelations was that executives would be happy to broadcast a Bible being thrown away but not a Koran. During the meeting, hosted by veteran broadcaster Sue Lawley, executives admitted the organisation deliberately promoted multiculturalism, anti-Americanism, anti-countryside and was pro-muslim. They also acknowledged that they were dominated by homosexuals and ethnic minorities. One BBC veteran said:
For years the BBC has claimed to be neutral. But Andrew Marr, a senior BBC journalist, said there was an "abnormally large" number of "gay people" in the Corporation and that the organisation had a "culturally liberal bias." HINDU TEMPLE
The temple is a replica of one of the holiest sites in the Hindu world
Last August, Europe's largest Hindu temple opened in Britain. Built on 12.5 acres of wasteland in the West Midlands, the temple can accommodate 400 worshippers at one time. The temple, which is decorated by gods and goddesses, includes a 12ft installation of Lord Krishna, the supreme Hindu god. "This is great news for the British Hindu community" said Bimal Krishna Das, secretary of the National Council of Hindu Temples."The opening of this great temple will be a wonderful addition to the multi-religious society of Britain, especially in West Midlands." The project was funded by a £3.3 million lottery grant from the Millennium Commission. CHRISTIAN STUDENTS THREATEN LEGAL ACTION AGAINST EXETER UNIVERSITY AND STUDENT GUILD Christian students at Exeter University have threatened legal action against the Student Guild and Exeter University if they do not support their right as Christians to the freedoms of speech, belief and association. (BCN Oct 27) The 50 year old Christian Union (CU) at Exeter University is temporarily suspended from the official list of student societies on campus, has had its Student Union bank account frozen, and has been banned from free use of Student Guild premises, or advertising events within Guild facilities, because the Student Guild claims the CU constitution and activities do not conform to its Equal Opportunities Policies, which have only recently been introduced. Following detailed legal advice, a representativeof the Christian Union delivered a Letter before Action to the Guild, and to the University's Registrar,on behalf of the whole Christian Union. The letter advised that proceedings would commence without further notice within 14 days unless the Exeter Christian Union was fully re-instated as a student society by the Guild with full rights and was allowed to call itself the Christian Union. The CU has advised that their action will be taken under the Human Rights Act 1998, the Education (No.2) Act 1986. GAY POLICE PARTY The Metropolitan Police spent over £2,000 on a party for gay rights activists, Christian Voice has learned. The party, a reception for European activists, was hosted by the 'Met' on the eve of the London Gay Pride Parade, "Europride", in July last year. The most senior officer present was Commander Steve Allen, head of the Met's Violent Crime Directorate. In answer to a Freedom of Information Act request from Christian Voice, the Met were forced to disclose that they spent £2,172.25 - £22.86 per head as 14 Met Police Officers entertained 39 European and 42 UK representatives of "LGBT/Pride/Human Rights/Church Organisations". £930 was spent on food, and £500 on "Music".Between them, the assembled police officers and the homosexual activists sunk an amazing £462 worth of "house wine" and £112 worth of beer, which must equate to a bottle of wine and at least a couple of bottles of beer each. HOSPITAL BURNS ABORTED BABIES
Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge has come in for criticism for burning the bodies of aborted babies in the furnace used for incinerating trash. Hospital staff have defended the policy on the grounds of not being able to afford fees charged by the local crematorium. HISTORY PROVES THE POWER OF THE KING JAMES VERSION John Eliot (1604-90) was the first Missionary financed by the SPGNE under Oliver Cromwell. Using the KJV, he published a Bible in the Algonquian Native American language and planted at least 14 churches among them. John Wesley (1703-91) started the Methodist movement. He preached in churches when invited and in the fields when not welcomed. His preachers stressed both holiness and salvation by faith and saw whole communities converted. George Whitefield (1714-70) also took the power of the KJV Words of God to the common man in open air meetings. Thousands were saved on two continents. This period was known as the "Great Awakening" in both USA and the British Isles. Jonathan Edwards (1703-58) was another famous preacher who wasalso part of this revival. His sermon, "Sinners in the hands of an angry God." was preached in a small Connecticut church, yet the power of his words and his Bible brought such conviction that society was cleaned up for the next 40 years. Francis Asbury (1745-1816) covered 270,000 miles and preached I 6,000 sermons as a Methodist circuit rider. William Carey (1761-1834) is considered the father of modern missions. He used the KJV to translate the Bible into Bengali and helped publish many more Bibles in other languages. RADIO TESTIMONIALS TO OUR RECENT BROADCASTS DEFENDING THE AUTHORISED KING JAMES BIBLE Your programs on standing for the King James Version were very interesting. Keep up the good work. Sixmilecross I was very pleased to hear your broadcast defending the King James Version and look forward to next week's broadcast. Caledon I caught your program about taking a stand for the King James Bible. This is something I took great interest in because some years ago I stood against the use of the NIV in my church because of the changes in translation and the omission of verses. It is my prayer that God will use this broadcast to open people's minds as to the attack on His Word by modern translations. Limavady Encouraged to hear your stand for the King James Version. I listen to the radio and am blessed by your preaching. Keep up the good work and may the Lord bless you and all who labour with you. Near Ballymena I enjoy listening to your broadcasts on 846 radio. Toomebridge Many thanks for your help, God bless. Cookstown Thank you for your message every Wednesday.I left my church after 65 years because they started using a modern translation, a Bible with copyrights! Praise God for people like you for standing up for the King James Version. Ballymena It's my delight to express how deeply thankful I am for your ministry of God's Word on the radio. Ahoghill May He bless you as you love and serve Him in spirit and truth. Lurgan I'm still enjoying your program on 981. Thanks for taking a firm stand for the King James Version. I wish more Pastors and ministers would do the same. Keep up the good work. Ballymena I've been listening for some time now to your broadcast every Wednesday evening. Ballygawley THOMAS KINKAID PAINTING: RAIN ON THE WINDSHIELD The Rain - Thomas Kinkaid Stop at the picture for a second and watch the rain...then read on...
One rainy afternoon I was driving along one of the main streets of town, taking those extra precautions necessary when the roads are wet and slick. Suddenly, my daughter, Aspen, spoke up from her relaxed position in her seat. "Dad, I'm thinking of something." This announcement usually meant she had been pondering some fact for a while, and was now ready to expound all that her six-year-old mind had discovered. I was eager to hear. "What are you thinking?" I asked. "The rain!" she began, "is like sin, and the windshield wipers are like God wiping our sins away." After the chill bumps raced up my arms I was able to respond. "That's really good, Aspen." Then my curiosity broke in. How far would this little girl take this revelation? So I asked... "Do you notice how the rain keeps on! coming? What does that tell you?" Aspen didn't hesitate one moment with her answer: "We keep on sinning, and God just keeps on forgiving us." I will always remember this whenever I turn my wipers on. Isn't it distressing to know that when you forward this message you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe or what they will think of you for sending it to them. Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us. God Bless you In order to see the Rainbow, you first must endure some rain DAMASCUS WILL BECOME A "RUINOUUS HEAP" A war between Syria and Israel is on the horizon: if not soon, then certainly before the end of this present age. Amos 1:3-5 and Isaiah 17:1 speak of the destruction of Damascus after a final war between Syria and Israel. Syria's hatred for Israel is no secret. Syrian President Bashar Assad recently told a Lebanese newspaper that as long as Israel exists, it is a threat to Arab nations. In fact, as early as 1948, Damascus radio called on all Arabs to "undertake the liberation battle that will tear the hearts from the bodies of the hateful Jews and trample them in the dust." (Time Magazine, June 2, 1948).
Israel's defense ministry is concerned about the Syrian military weapons buildup, including VX gas warheads on medium-range In 1973, as the Yom Kippur War came to a close, Israeli tanks neared Damascus, but turned around at America's request when The former Soviet Union is laying relatively low these days, but Russia continues to train and equip anti nations. According to the Russian magazine Kommersant, the Russians are reportedly building or at least updating a naval base at Tartus, Syria. As early as 1996, Egypt's President Mubarak warned that his nation would not stand by if war broke out between Syria and Israel, and in 2000, Egyptian officials clarified they stand with Syria in case of war. Isaiah 31 links Egypt and Syria in divine judgment. 2006 was a sad year for Israel believers world wide as it saw Pastor Frank Dowsett end the publication of the Australian quarterly However God has not left Himself without a witness. OBITUARIES We regret the passing of the following stalwarts of Kingdom Truth and extend our deepest sympathy to their relatives. John Davis A regular and faithful member of Open-Bible Fellowship. Mrs Ena Whittaker Wife of CPF President Rev. Ken Whittaker. "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord." OPENING THE BOOK OF AN UNLIVED YEAR
According to God's will, midnight strikes and the old year will be gone, and we close the tablets we've written on, and torn twixt hope and doubt and fear, we open the book of an unlived year.
Soiled by blunders and black regret are the pages we read with our eyelids wet. Closed in our hearts, as the leaves are turned, is the record of passions that flared and burned; and panics and sorrows, and ghosts that leer, look out from the page of the dying year.
unmarred are the pages lying there - twelve new chapters fresh and fair. It is ours to write the daily tale of how we conquer or how we fail; of struggle and effort and hope that wakes, like a song in the heart when a bright day breaks. Once a year, when the glad bells ring, and the Old Year nods to the will of the King, fresh in our hands, with the title clear, and leaves uncut, is an unlived year.
