In passing into the New Testament, one should ever bear in mind that God, apart from guaranteeing national continuity to Israel, had assured of a redemptive work in which Israel would pass into a more intimate relationship than that of servants. While the 'servant' characteristic would continue to obtain, this would operate within the new status of sonship for at the time when Israel passed into captivity and, through the rejection of God's Directives for them, became 'not my people' - (Hosea 1:9), the Lord intimated the new status. ". . . in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God" - (Hosea 1:10).

The New Testament commences its record with attention drawn once again to Israel, for in the annunciation of the archangel Gabriel to Joseph of the Davidic line (Matthew 1:20), he pinpoints a prophetic statement made by Isaiah and which was spoken within a purely Israelitish context (Matthew 1:23 and Isaiah 7:14). In a similar discourse with Mary, also of the Davidic line, Gabriel makes his pronouncement in terms which leave no room for ambiguity.The Son Who was to be born to her was to be called 'the Son of the Highest' Who would be given 'the throne of his father David' from which He would 'reign over the house of Jacob for ever' (Luke 1:32 33).

Immediately prior to the promised Birth, Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:67), drew Israel into the events which would shortly unfold.

Unless words have lost their meaning, this statement is devoid of individual application. They are, however, most specific in their reinforcement of the Old Testament assurances of national Israel continuity.

As one passes to the Birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, it will be noted that when Joseph and Mary had brought the Babe to Jerusalem, a certain righteous man called Simeon was present, a man who was expecting the mighty event of 'the consolation of Israel' - (Luke2:25). It was within this expectation that he took the Babe in his arms and, under the Holy Spirit, pronounced the fulfilment of this in the words:

Thus the national implication, attendant on the events when the Word was made flesh, is unmistakable.

In terms of the Law of Service pertaining to the things associated with the Tabernacle, the minimum age for this was thirty years (Numbers 4:3,23,30,35,39) and one finds that at the age of thirty, the Lord Jesus began His Ministry. At the outset of this, it will be noted that He categorically stated that His Mission was not the negation of the Law nor the words of the prophets - He had come to fulfil that which was incomplete and which, according to Hebrews 9:11-15, was centred in the sacrificial shedding of the blood of bulls and goats.

By way of confirming His denial of abrogation of those national things which dominate the Old Testament Scriptures, He immediately sent His chosen disciples to the 'lost sheep of the house of Israel' - (Matthew 10:6). It was shortly after this that He occasioned to once again mention His Mission and in this, He categorically stated:

In the light of this it is rank dishonesty to deny the projection of the national things of Israel into the New Testament.

Returning for a moment to the Old Testament narrative, Abraham, in the full realisation of the magnitude of God's Purpose laid on his covenanted progeny, asked for a sign of confirmation (Genesis. 15:8). This was given to him in such a manner as to make all students take serious note of it. An avenue of death was prepared by Divine Instruction (Genesis 15:9-10) after which a 'smoking furnace and a burning lamp' passed through this avenue as a sign to Abraham that all of God's Promises would be ratified in an act of 'passing through death'.

A question asked by so many today is answered in this sign. Ever since the Word of God became an Open Book, men have pondered the reason for the agonising Death on Calvary for, as is plainly revealed in the Scriptures, salvation was dispensed by the Lord when sincere repentance became evident in actions (Luke 19:9). However, the Lord knew full well that He had to 'pass through death' and rise again in order to ratify the Promises of the Father made to Israel. It is clearly evident that the Lord knew of this fact hence His references to His Death and Resurrection which punctuate many of His Discourses.

It was only after He had risen having passed through death that He explained the Scriptures to them and "beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself" - (Luke 24:27). The starting point is significant for this was the Law to which had been added the sacrifices and which were a temporary covering of the consequences of transgression of the Law. Having thus opened their understanding that they might understand the Scriptures (Luke 24:45) it was a natural sequence in events that these same disciples should ask:

The nation Israel is thus once again forcibly thrust into the picture and the national message given place immediately prior to the Ascension into heaven.

Throughout the remainder of the Acts and running through the Pauline Epistles, one finds references to Israel but, in general, it would appear that the national message gives way to individualistic doctrinal issues in which national things have no place.

However, in passing on to the Epistle to the Hebrews, one finds that the pendulum once again swings back to Israel for the Aaronic priesthood is superseded by the order of Melchizedek of which the Lord Jesus Christ is the One and Only High Priest (Hebrews 7). The oath bound covenant with Abraham is again mentioned (Hebrews 8:8 and Jeremiah 31:31). James continues the theme in writing to Israel, all twelve tribes not in Judaea, but 'scattered abroad' - (James 1:1) and reminds them that in the Lord Who made them, there 'is no variableness, neither shadow of turning' (James 1:17) thus confirming 'Moses and all the prophets'. Peter follows in the same vein, pinpointing the locality in which 'scattered' Israel was to be found (I Peter 1:1) and, as though to reinforce James' reminder to the nation, comments on the projection of Israel's role in God's Plan into the New Testament and post New Testament times.

By comparing Exodus 19:5-6 and Hosea 1:6-10, one is able to see the full significance of this statement with the national message once again coming to the fore as the Bible begins to close its account.

In the Revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ given to John, the message concerning Israel is once again given prominence. The transference of the nation to the 'place appointed' (Revelation 12:6 and 14 and Deuteronomy 32:8 and II Samuel 7: 10) is followed by the mighty panorama of history which culminates in the establishment of the New Jerusalem and saved nations living and moving in the light of this (Revelation 21 :23-24). The Word of God closes with a prayer for the speedy Coming Again of the Lord Jesus Christ and which Return, according to the Lord Himself, is the commencement of His Kingly Ministry (Matthew 24:31-32). Unless Gabriel was mistaken, this Ministry is associated with 'the throne of his father David' (Luke 1:32) and the 'throne' inseparable from the house of Jacob (verse 33). Unless one is deliberately dishonest and insists on spiritualising these things, one can come to no other conclusion than that it establishes Israel as a nation at the end of the age.

In the light of all this, it is perhaps understandable why the anti Christ enemies of true modern Israel are making such a concerted effort to relegate the Book of books to the limbo of dusty shelves. In the main, they have been successful in making the true Biblical development of ancient Israel strangers to the truth of their origin, mission and destiny. The only way to keep them in this state and thus accomplish their demise as a nation, is to cover all traces of the evidence which points to their relationship to God and His Purpose and this is being done with tragic success. It is commonly taught and accepted in Ango-Celto-Saxondom that the Bible is not a Book of literal history but a work full of allegories from which principles of behaviour and lessons in conduct may be learned. This, of course, makes provision for a very nebulous faith, one which is dictated by the mood of the moment and the peculiar emotional state resulting from this. Israel, God's servant nation, raised to the status of 'sons and daughters of the living God' are the main casualties in this insidious propaganda and THE faith which characterised the patriarchs of the race has become the fickle, ever changing but nevertheless futile hope that all men are equal in integrity and faith. Being strangers to the truth, it is not at all surprising that the Lord Jesus asked,

If you are concerned about it all you will rightly ask me: "What can we do about it now?"

Let us consider the facts:- Our Nation has become so blind to spiritual forces that God cannot safely allow us to return to a position as a first class power until we repent, from the least to the greatest of us, as a nation, in deep sorrow for our shameful departure from the written Commands of our Everliving God, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit for our people as a whole, made possible by the Atoning Sacrifice of God's precious Son on the Cross nearly 2,000 years ago. There is absolutely no future for any man, woman, society, nation, or group of nations-nay, utter destruction-if they dare to neglect God's Son and His Sacrifice to death on Calvary. But there is life and renewal for all these if they come to the Lord Jesus as their only Mediator and Advocate for their sins and failures, and honestly seek to obey His rules.

It is high time we became impatient with our own ideas of God and His laws, and humbly submitted ourselves to His Written Word, as confirmed and proved by the Crucifixion and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Who is, in fact, the Originator and Commander in Chief of this great Commonwealth and its sister nations, whatever our leaders in Church and State may misguidedly say to the contrary.

Think of what our shocking neglect of God's Written Word has meant to us! Consider also the half baked "theological" scholarship of those who, in the Name of Jesus dare to betray our nation into dissolving the meaning of the very words of Him Who said: "The Scripture cannot be broken." Here are some of the deadly consequences:-

Juvenile crime and moral perversion are increasing steadily because the Bible is not made a first priority in School and Home, and taught by convinced "born again" teachers.

Parents rarely teach real prayers to their children, the offices of godfather or godmother are generally a solemn farce, and grace before meals, together with family prayers, are almost unknown. In addition, those parents who do insist upon true Scriptural order in their homes are often rebuked by magistratesas "oldfashioned", and children have actually been known to leave the table when the Bible was being read by their godly parents. No wonder that our homes are disintegrating and becoming the lucrative targets for the highly paid experts in profane and often obscene entertainment.

The shockingly low standards in publicity and entertainment too often contain open blasphemy against God, His Name and His Commandments, and the British Medical Council have stated that many features in Press, Radio and Advertisement produce a climate dangerously favourable to moral perversion and crime.

The Commandment to keep holy the Lord's Day, observed so faithfully by the Lord Jesus excluding of course all works of necessity and mercy, is now openly broken by the Nation from the least to the greatest, and religious revolutionaries in all the main church denominations are ready to trim and say: "Come to Church in the morning and do what you like afterwards!" Thus we break open the road to ruin and hold back the protective Hand that gave the saving Law now working against us for Justice. Our features are mirrored in the counsels of our godless foes.

All such move towards godless "world community" as a substitute for the authority of God and His written Word which commands us to obey Him alone in vital matters of life, death and survival. All such communities denying the full and open acknowledgment of the supremacy of Jesus are anti-Christ organisations, despite their show of good works a plain duty.

Other "religious" groups in our land welcome the false idea of community without Christ and hope to "ride" this essentially humanist conception, originating in Babel and thus convert the world to their false and un-Biblical gods.

The standard of personal honesty has gone down because we have multiplied the findings of case law (the statutes of Omri as it were) and exalted these to the same level as the Ten Words of Sinai.and the Commandments of the Redeemer of our Nation and Saviour of the World. Breaking the Sabbath in the nominal Churches has opened the flood gates of evil in our Nation, and the once rejected moral decadence of certain European nations now feeds our youth by vivid Sunday films made possible only by betrayal.

In the formal Church despite the glorious martyrdom of our Fathers for the cleansing of our National Faith, there is at the moment no single voice from any prominent leader of the National, or Free Churches to remind the Commonwealth and the world that the written Word of God is our sole rule of faith as contrasted with what the ancient Homilies of the Church of England describe as "the stinking puddle of men's minds". Well did our noble Reformation Bishops and martyrs cry at the stake: "0 England, beware of anti-Christ."

Let us remember the words of the prophecy of Deborah, a noble woman and judge in ancient Israel, who, as in our times, lamented the shameful deterioration of Church and State in Israel, despite all their pomp and complacency:-

Beyond doubt, trouble and treachery are arising in all our former gates of Empire.

That is where this great Nation, cleansed and chosen by God to give His written Word to the world in 1,000 tongues, and His law to "regions beyond", has come!

Cheap pendants and mammon seeking writers of the third order have made high festival over the faults and sins of our Victorian ancestors (whose boots they are not fit to black),and preached license to the itching ears of a generation deluded by the treacle of welfare without any acknowledgment of the servants of God whose sacrifices in the last centuries have made this possible.

The time has come now for the Faithful in this Nation to act, and bring oil back into the lamps of the Sanctuary of God amongst us, to illuminate our deluded people, before the Justice of God is obliged sorrowfully to permit the literal fire of barbarous pagans to bring us to our senses, to our knees, and to the feet of our Redeemer.

Pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit in any other methods He may direct, in awakening leaders in Church and State to the fact that there is not much time left to avert the just judgment of God against this Nation, which was the first nationally to receive Christianity and has been blessed by incomparable martyrs for over 1,000 years, and thus having no excuse whatsoever if it dares to evade the special responsibilities laid upon it. Leaders who are seeking to guide this great people after their own counsels, without mentioning the awful counsels of God and His Son, outside Whom there is no salvation, are unworthy of their position and a danger to us all, and our children!

Let us read again about the new start and deliverance He is prepared to give us, which is guaranteed by the Precious Blood and infinite Agony of the beloved Son of His Heart, abandoned to us "to give repentance to Israel" and deliverance to the World from the atomic destruction of all life:

This is still the Word of God, especially to those who seek God for their Nation in the Name of Jesus to Whom all power is given in Heaven and Earth, and Who has prophetically declared:

What then must you and I do? This:- Start a chain reaction with all your friends and acquaintances to give no peace to our leaders in Church, State, Parliament, Local Government, Local Churches and Societies, until we as a Nation of Electors move our Leaders, headed by Her Majesty urgently to call a season (not a day only) of National Humiliation, Sorrowful Penitence and Prayer for guidance towards the God, the authority of Whose Written Word we have despised and minimised, Whose Sacred Day we have dishonoured for our own pleasures, whose joyful and solemn worship the Nation has forsaken, the sacred Divinity of Whose Holy Son incompetent and faithless religious leaders, secretly lacking in conviction, have themselves doubted and taught others, less learned, fatally to doubt. Thank God for the many faithful exceptions!

The time has come when we must choose finally between the shameful abuse of this freedom leading to the death, of our inheritance, or joyfully submit to the Life of God, never again to forsake Him for our idols.

God is well able to turn National Judgment into unspeakable blessing, but not until our Nation and Leaders hear this word of God:-

A survey of almost 8,600 people in 14 European countries found that while seven out of ten Europeans believe in God, only just over half believe that there is life after death. The survey also revealed wide differences in religious perceptions between nationalities.

In Poland 97 per cent of those interviewed said they believed in God, Portugal had the second highest proportion of believers at 90 per cent and Russia had 87 per cent. At the lower end of the list were Belgium with 58 per cent, the Netherlands on 51 and at the bottom the Czech Republic, where only 37 per cent believe there is a God.

Four out of ten Europeans think religion is necessary to be able to distinguish between right and wrong. This conviction is strongest in Poland (86) and Russia (78), but people in the Czech Republic (27), the Netherlands (25) and France (24) are dubious.

The survey was conducted on behalf of Reader's Digest in Germany and researchers found that Germany continues to be deeply divided, at least as far as religion is concerned, even 15 years after re-unifcation. In the former communist east 77 per cent are convinced atheists, compared to 22 per cent in the west. 65 per cent of those claiming to be believers resort to prayer to get in touch with God. Two thirds of all prayers are concerned with 'people who are important to me'.

Second on the prayer list are peace and justice in the world. Only relatively few prayers have to do with 'my sins and my salvation' (13) or 'my work and my job' (11).

The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister is seeking to change the law so as to treat the European Union's symbol, the ring of 12 yellow stars on a blue background, as a national flag for the first time.

Up to now, it has been treated solely as an advertisement and therefore requires planning permission before it is flown. The symbols are based on a Roman Catholic misinterpretation of Revelation 12: 1-2. The RC Church believes that the 'woman' referred to is Mary, hence statues of Mary with a crown of 12 stars around her head are found in tens of thousands of Catholic churches across Europe.
