The Prime Minister, Mr. Blair and the leaders of Britain’s mainline churches would have us to believe that Islam is a peaceful religious system. Although there are many moral, law abiding Muslims in our community and although we would not wish to see any suffer because of the events of 11th September, yet Bible Prophecy identifies Islam as one of the three end time forces which will draw the nations to the Great Battle of the Day of God Almighty (Revelation 16). We reproduce the information that follows without prejudice. Let the facts speak for themselves.

WHAT DOES THE KORAN TEACH?

These extracts are taken from The Koran translated by N.J Dawood - Penguin Classics 4th Revised Edition 1974 - reprinted in 1986 and reproduced in the Lutheran Christian News of October 1st, 2001.

“Believers, retaliation is decreed for you in bloodshed.” (Sura 2:178).

“Fight for the sake of Allah those that fight against you, but do not attack them first."

"Allah does not love the aggressors. Kill them wherever you find them ... if they attack you put them to the sword ... Fight against them until idolatry is no more and Allah’s religion reigns supreme ... If any one attacks you, attack him as he attacked you.. (Sura 2:190-4).

“Fight for the cause of Allah.” (Sura 2:444).

“Those that deny our revelations, we will burn in Hellfire ... As for those that have faith and do good works, we shall admit them to gardens watered by running streams, where, wedded to chaste virgins, they shall abide for ever ... the believers who do good works, whether men or women, shall enter the gardens of Paradise” (Sura 4:55-7,124).

“The true believers fight for the cause of Allah, but the infidels fight for idols. Fight then against the friends of Satan” (Sura 4:76).

“Therefore fight for the cause of Allah” (Sura 4:84).

"Allah has given those that fight with their goods and their persons a higher rank than those who stay at home. He has promised all a good reward; but far richer is the recompense of those who fight for Him...” (Sura 4:96).

“Unbelievers are those who declare.. ‘Allah is the Messiah, the Son of Mary” (Sura 5:17).

“When the sacred months are over, slay the idolaters wherever you find them. Arrest them, besiege them, and lie in ambush everywhere for them...” (Sura 9:5).

“...make war on the leaders of unbelief...” (Sura 9:12).

“Believers, know that the idolaters are unclean...” (Sura 9:28).

“...the Christians say the Messiah is the son of Allah. Such are their assertions, by which they imitate the infidels of old. Allah confound them! How perverse they are! They worship.... the Messiah the son of Mary as gods besides Allah; though they were ordered to serve one God only. There is no god but Him. Exalted be he above those whom they deify beside Him! ... It is He who has sent forth His apostle with guidance and the true faith to make it triumphant over all religions, however much the idolaters may dislike it” (Sura 9:30-3).

“Proclaim a woeful punishment to those that hoard up gold and silver and do not spend it in Allah’s cause. The day will surely come when their treasures shall be heated in the fire of Hell...” (Sura 9:35).

“If you do not fight He will punish you sternly and replace you by other men...” (Sura 9:39).

“Whether unarmed or well equipped, march on the fight for the cause of Allah, with your wealth and your person” (Sura 9:41).

“Prophet, make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal rigorously with them. Hell shall be their home: An evil fate” (Sura 9:73).

“Believers, make war on the infidels who dwell around you...” (Sura 9:122).

ATTACKS ON CHRISTIANS BY MILITANT MOSLEMS SINCE SEPTEMBER 2001

AUSTRALIA - October: Twelve churches in Sydney, Australia, were attacked by arsonists during October. One church was attacked twice in three days as extremists threw Molotov cocktails through the windows. A telephone caller to the police later claimed, “It was for bin Laden.”

THE HOLY LAND - 8 October: A Christian convert from Islam was stabbed to death by a supporter of Osama bin Laden on 8 October. The murderer shouted, “You are an apostate!” as he stabbed him.

INDONESIA - 23 October: Four Christians were dragged from their cars and beaten by gangs of Muslim students who stopped traffic in Makassar, Sulawesi, on 23 October. The following day two other young Christian men were also violently assaulted. The violence was carried out in response to a peaceful demonstration against Osama bin Laden two days earlier.

KENYA - 26 September: Two churches in Isiolo, Kenya, were burnt to the ground in an arson attack on Wednesday, 26 September. Carved into the charred remains of the two buildings were the phrases, “God is Great” and “We condemn America”.

MALAYSIA - 23 October: Eight Christian workers from the headquarters of the National Evangelical Christian Fellowship in Malaysia were sent to hospital on 23 October after coming into contact with a letter containing white powder. The powder came with an offensive letter promising death to the staff when they opened it because it contained anthrax, threatening to destroy the NECF offices, and calling down curses on Christians.

MAURITANIA - 17 October: The National Director of World Vision in Mauritania and his young daughter were shot and injured whilst out walking on 17 October. They seem to have been targeted by a Mauritanian man angry at the attacks on Afghanistan, because they were Westerners.

NIGERIA - 12 to 14 October: As many as 200 people were slaughtered in riots in Kano on 12 to 14 October when supporters of Osama bin Laden turned on the city’s Christian minority during anti-US demonstrations. Hundreds were injured and 18,000, mainly Christians, fled to military and police buildings seeking protection from the violent mobs. Over 16,000 have been made homeless.

PAKISTAN - September: Several Islamic religious leaders in Pakistan issued a fatwa in September stating that two Pakistani Christians would be killed for every Muslim who dies during American strikes on Afghanistan. On 20 September a 13-year-old Christian boy was beaten to death by five Muslim men who refused to pay for a meal they had brought from his stand, saying, “Take your payment from America.” In Rawalpindi five Christian families were dragged from their homes and savagely beaten by Muslim mobs during anti-American protests. In Lahore a gang of Muslims set fire to a church and beat a Christian minister. Another church was stoned by Muslim rioters, and a Christian school broken into and vandalised. At least three more churches were also attacked.

PAKISTAN - 28 October: Sixteen Christian worshippers and a Muslim policeman were brutally shot and killed in an attack on St Dominic’s Church, Bahawalpur, on Sunday 28 October. Their attackers shouted “Pakistan and Afghanistan, graveyard of Christians,” “God is Great,” and “This is just the start,” then opened fire on the congregation, most of whom were women and children.

SUDAN - Many Islamic militants in Northern Sudan are now seeing the ongoing civil war, against the mainly-Christian African population of the South as a direct retaliation against American/Christian forces “The Kifr [infidel] airplanes are bombing the Emirate of Afghanistan, and our Islamic airforce is retaliating against the black kifr in Sudan. The south Sudanese rebels have received assistance from America, therefore they will suffer,” said one.

PAKISTAN - (13 November) Two Christians, one a convert from Islam, have been shot and killed in Pakistan’s North West Frontier Province in the last few days. Latifullah, a Christian convert from Islam, was shot in Peshawar several days ago. Waheed Paul, who used to work for an Non Governmental Organisation in Peshawar, has also been shot and killed.

A PEACEFUL RELIGION?

'War is a blessing for the world and for all nations. It ts God who incites men to fight and to kill. The Koran says, “Fight until all corruption and all rebellion have ceased.” The wars the Prophet led against the Infidels were a blessing for all humanity. Imagine that we soon will win the war. That will not be enough, for corruption and resistance to Islam will still exist. The Koran says, “War, war until victory! .... “ The mullahs with corrupt hearts who say that all this is contrary to the teachings of the Koran are unworthy of Islam. Thanks to God, our young people are now, to the limits of their means, putting God’s commandments into action. They know that to kill the unbelievers is one of man's greatest missions.'

AFGHANISTAN - FACT FILE

Television viewers will have seen the different racial types to be found in Afghanistan. Some are descendants of Abraham through Keturah. Others are descendants of the Greek soldiers of Alexander the Great, whilst the Oriental features of others are clearly the descendants of the followers of Ghenghiz Khan. Here are the facts:

Territory: A landlocked nation with 652,000 sq. km. It borders Iran with 936 km.; Turkmenistan with 744 km.; Uzbekistan 137 km.; Tajikistan 1206 km.; China 76 km.; and Pakistan 2430 km..

Largest cities: Kabul (2.2 million). Kandahar (330,000); Mazar-e-Sharif (232,000); Charikar (191,000); Herat (161,000).

Population: 23 million.

Ethnic groups: 88 ethnic and people groups. Pashtun (38%); Tajik (25%); Hazara (19%); Uzbek (6%); Others, (including Persian, Turkic) (12%).

Languages: 50. Pushtun (50%); Dan (35%).

Literacy rate: 12%.

Religion: Sunni Muslim (83%); Shi’ite Moslem (15%); Ismaili (1%). Hindu, Sikh and Christian (less than 0.4%).

Recent Politics: The autocratic monarchy of Mohammed Zahir Shah was overthrown in 1973. Republican rule ended in a pro-Marxist coup in 1978. The subsequent Soviet invasion was disastrous for the country and ultimately led to the humiliating withdrawal of Soviet forces in 1988-89, and the fall of the Communist regime in 1992.

Disunity among the Mujaheddin guerillas degenerated into civil war between the interim government, largely supported by northern people, and the most extreme Islamic faction (the Taliban) that is largely Pushtun. The Taliban swept into power in 1994, and sought to gain complete control of the country ever since.

When the Taliban first came to power, it did so with a popular mandate of the people who were tired of misrule. Corrupt commanders were hung by the Taliban, which has proved to be just as corrupt.

After more than 20 years of war, the economy has been shattered; the countryside has been poisoned, and mined; much of the housing and most of the complex irrigation systems, and much of the livestock has been destroyed. Hundreds of thousands have lost their lives, and millions have fled their homes.

Drug Trade: The most lucrative agricultural crop is opium, of which Afghanistan is the world’s largest producer. Experts say that Afghanistan is capable of producing an average annual harvest of opium amounting to 4,000 tonnes. There is also evidence that Afghanistan now has 200 laboratories producing high grade heroin for the export market. Much of this profit is believed to be used to fund terrorist activities.
